Sorry lads, we're getting nothing from this one. A kit like that won't do the job for Arsenal away, we need the all-black away kit back for a match like this.

Should win this. Probably the easiest of the remaining 'tough' fixtures.

I'm gonna guess Rio won't play if he had a concussion, though I won't be shocked if he does play. Hopefully Jones and Smalling are ready.

De Gea
Jones Smalling Evans Evra
Scholes Carrick
Valencia Rooney Nani
Welbeck

SAF has started Lindegaard against big teams that put in a lot of crosses, I'd fully expect De Gea to be back for this one. I'd actually think that might be a good bet to lay down, if you're so inclined, people seem to think De Gea might not be first choice anymore.

Why Smalling for Evans?

Forgot Evans was fit again to be honest. Ferdinand and Evans will do a job at the back but so would Smalling who has been excellent when called upon and I rate him more than Evans, who makes me nervous when he plays. I'd love Smalling and Evans as our first choice CB pairing in time to come but I'm still not convinced. Jones hasn't exactly excelled at CB either but he has far too much raw talent to not come good.

Code:
                Lindegaard

Smalling Ferdinand Evans Evra

Valencia Carrick Jones Nani

            Rooney Welbeck

SUBS:
de Gea, Rafael, Park, Giggs, Scholes, Berbatov, Hernandez

Can we not play 4-4-2 away from home against the better sides? It's too open and we'll get over run in midfield.

Djourou wants revenge on United

Johan Djourou admits Arsenal are out for revenge in Sunday's Premier League showdown with Manchester United at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners were beaten 8-2 at Old Trafford in August, the low point of a difficult start to the season.

Arsenal have lost their last two Premier League games, away at Fulham and Swansea, but Djourou is thinking positive.

"It's a fantastic game for us after Swansea which was difficult to swallow," the Switzerland international defender told The Sun.

"It will be a bounce-back game. We have to turn up, we have the away game still in our minds so there is revenge to take.

"We have to keep working hard to try to improve."

Arsenal currently sit four points outside of the top four and in danger of not qualifying for the Champions League after 14 straight seasons in Europe's premier club competition.

"We have to fight to get in the top four," added Djourou. "It will be a difficult task but there is a long way to go."

Like feck we are scared, I hope we murder them again.

Arsenal-Manchester United Live on Fox

For all you stateside, this match will be on FOX, not Fox Soccer.

Arsenal-Manchester United Live on Fox - NYTimes.com

Football Sunday on the Fox network has got a bit more interesting.

The network announced Wednesday that it will carry the first live broadcast of a Premier League game on television in the United States before its broadcast of the N.F.L. National Conference Championship game between the Giants and the San Francisco 49ers. The American football game, with the winner advancing to the Super Bowl on Feb. 5, is scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m., Eastern.

And it is not just any soccer game — it is the century-old rivalry between Arsenal and Manchester United that Fox will show beginning at 10:30 a.m., Eastern, with a 30-minute preview show from its studio in Los Angeles. In the studio for the show will be the latest addition to Fox’s soccer team, Rob Stone, along with Eric Wynalda and the chat-show host Piers Morgan (huh?!). The match, at the Emirates Stadium in London, is scheduled to kick off at 11 a.m.

Earlier this season, the Red Devils spanked Arsenal at Old Trafford, 8-2, but that was before the Gunners turned around their season. Arsenal is now in fifth place in the league, but is coming off two consecutive losses. After the most recent defeat, last Sunday at Swansea, Arsenal’s striker Thierry Henry, who is on loan from the Red Bulls of Major League Soccer, became embroiled in controversy when he swore at one of the club’s supporters after the game. Henry, who has also had run-ins with Red Bulls fans in the past, apologized in a statement to the Sun:

“I was really shocked and disappointed on Sunday, and not just at the result. After the final whistle of a very tricky game, I insisted the whole team go and applaud the Arsenal supporters. When I arrived in front of our own fans, I couldn’t understand the abuse the team were getting from one of them. I wanted to tell the fan in question that we need their support not abuse. The sentiment was right but in hindsight could have been better expressed. So I would like to first and foremost apologize for using inappropriate language to that particular ‘supporter’. I didn’t intend to be malicious or threatening and am aware that it could have been said in a calmer manner.”

United has its own issues — before last weekend’s 3-0 whitewashing of Bolton Wanderers, United has lost two straight games in the Premier League. And like Arsenal, United reached back and enticed the veteran Paul Scholes to dispense with his retirement for the rest of this season.

If that simply is not enough sports for one day, the other Manchester team, first-place City, will host rejuvenated Tottenham in a game that will be carried live on Fox Soccer at 8:30 a.m.

Which game are you going to start your day with? City? United? Ravens-Patriots? Giants-49ers? All or none of the above?

Well I'm sure they tried to find the corpse of Bin Laden but they had to go for 2nd most prominent pete.

Oh boy, Sunday is going to be fecking awesome! I'm not sure how I'm going to make it into work the next day after watching the SF NY game but I'll worry about that 6.30am on Monday morning!

Arsenal 0-8 United

I want a clean sheet this time

Arteta doesn't worry me, be nice if Vermalaen is still out for the game though - very underrated defender and Arse always look better when he's in the starting 11.

How is he underrated when everyone thinks he's the dog's bollocks?

Can't see Utdnot winning, always seem to do well against them lately last season at the Emirates aside).

Last five results at the Emirates:

Arsenal FC - Manchester United 1-0 (Aaron Ramsey)
Arsenal FC - Manchester United 1-3 (Vermaelen; Nani, Rooney, Park)
Arsenal FC - Manchester United 1-3 (Van Persie; Park, Ronaldo 2x)
Arsenal FC - Manchester United 2-1 (Nasri 2x; Rafael)
Arsenal FC - Manchester United 2-2 (Fabregas, Gallas; Gallas(OG), Ronaldo)

2W 1D 2L - 9-7 (+2).

Hmmm..... 442 (4231) with Carrick and Giggs or Carrick and Jones? Or should all 3 play and leave out Welbeck? Smalling or Rafael at full back? Lindegaard or De Gea between the sticks?

I'd be more inclined to go with:

Lindegaard
Rafael Ferdinand Evans Evra
Carrick Jones
Valencia --- Giggs --- Nani
Rooney

That line-up is probably what we'll see on Sunday. Difficult away fixture against a team who likes to play through the middle.

I was thinking we'd see de Gea, but after the latest rumours I'm not so sure. This would be the kind of game he's more likely to start, though.

I think the front six will likely be Carrick, Jones, Giggs, Valencia, Nani, Rooney as others have said - but it wouldn't surprise me if Welbeck gets in either. Other than that, Smalling may start but I'd start Rafael and sub him off for Smalling when he undoubtedly doesn't finish the game :P

I had a dream that City and United both lose on Sunday xD any win will do here though, it's make or break time for us I reckon. If we're more points behind City than we are now after the next 6-7 games, I think that's curtains.
