We have no idea how to vary it up I think. at least we're trying to go through the middle at times and doing give and go's which is always nice, but it doesn't come natural to us and our style currently.
What's frustrating is watching Mata and realize what kind of potential he's carrying.

I'd like to see Rooney making some runs as soon as Mata is on the ball. He's of no use stood still waiting for the ball to feet which he'd presumably only use to pass out wide.
I think that Carrick has been pretty poor.

Very much zoo. I was thinking it could make sense to swap Vidic and Smalling in marking as Mertesaker is less aggressive than Giroud so should be easy for Vidic. Smalling is taller but always prone to a in air mistake.

If they switch the play 2 or 3 times in an attack then you can quadruple the amount of crosses per attack. Hopefully Moyes has the tactical nous to suggest that.

Has passing has been poor but he's putting himself in between the lines to stop a lot of Arsenal's fast passing which has been important.
If he can sharpen up the passing in the second half it'll be useful.

I think we're playing well, we're containing arsenal at their own ground, we still don't have an attacking shape yet, hopefully we can improve on that the second half, i have a feeling we can sneak a win here.

I'd say Mata has been our best, but without being his best. Made a couple of tackles working backwards, which is as much as any of our other players defensively. And has found a couple of passes to fashion decent oppertunities for us. There were still several times where he was a bit lightweight or could have done better but overall he certainly did his job
In the States, they just showed Mata running around aimlessly on defense. To say it was poor would be an understatement. Commentator said it was like watching a 4 year old. Can't disagree after watching it.
