Arsenals chances of a top 4 finish this season

I think Liverpool will pip them to 4th. Arsenal will probably still just about better Spurs though and finish 5th, mainly due to Tottenham's lacklustre strikeforce.

Lets not forget that the window is still open for Spurs too, if they get a decent striker in who stays fit they could be a much more effective team this year.

from Wenger on the beeb regarding possible the loss of Fabrgeas and Nasri:
"We are all replaceable. All the cemeteries are full of replaceable people."

Don't be too surprised if Arsenal aren't playing in Europe either - I really fear for them in that Udinese tie after all these distractions.

They'll get fourth though.

I think this is more likely... the recent transfer turmoil will see them hard pressed to deal with a top italian side...

They still have plenty of time and enough talent to make their season work... although an additional signing or two would be a must. And they can't realistically be considered title contenders.

Well if they get knocked out i reckon they will be serious contenders in the league.

Maybe he can get a replacement from the stiffs.

Arsenal will finish top 4 with consummate ease.

Infact lets imagine arsenal line up 4-3-3 and let us compare Arsenals team to Man City's

Hart > Sczecny
Clichy>Gibbs
Kompany (and some partner) < Djourou and Vermalen (this season will be breakout for this partnership.
City RB (could be many) < Sagna
De Jong = Song (different style Song more dynamic and better distributor though)
Toure < Wilshere
One of the plethora of average City CM's < Ramsey
Silva > Gervinho
Aguero < Van Persie

Other position unknown. Off out bye, I'm right.

Storey, I'm guessing you feel a bit like some of us did after Ronaldo leaving.

Yep, it's shit, but kind of exciting as well to see how you cope and who steps up to the plate.

Sink or swim time.

I don't think Arsenal will drop out of the top four.

They will struggle. They will be 3rd to 5th.

I think there will be a shock in one of the top teams this season aswell. Yes we are going to walk it easily :D but a big team will be very low in the table.

They look completely toothless to me.

I know its only 2 games in but Wenger seriously needs to bring in some experienced players.

They'll come 4th.

Keeper looked good, and the backline was solid enough...with all their injuries/suspensions and transfer drama, it's not like Liverpool played them off the park.

That midfield was missing Wilshere and Song, forget new signings, just with those two back, it should be a lot better. So I expect Arsenal to be right where they were at the end of last season, 4th place.

I think that they will be our main challenger... strange isn't it? Time will tell.

I am with Boss on this one, in fact I stated on here a few days ago. I think Liverpool have an excellent chance of nicking their 4th spot. If they do loose both Cesc and Nasri I can even see them finishing below Spurs in 6th.

Arsenal are an accident waiting to happen and have been for the past 3 or 4 seasons

I love bumping my own posts. Arsenal have had that accident I predicted

Not a chance in hell Arsenal will finish top 4 in this sort of state.

Liverpool are much better balanced and better managed. Shame it will be the cnuts back in the UCL.

Worst result in something like 115 years for Arsenal

I know they're missing a few players but the ones that were on the pitch look nowhere near good enough, the likes of Arshavin & Rosicy, senior players, just look like passengers with no interest in stepping up.

Ramsey, Walcot & RvP are the only ones who looked like they even wanted to be there.

I am worried with the form of Arsenal and Spurs to be honest. It's opening up the door for Liverpool to walk into 4th place this season.

If they manage to qualify for the europa league then it'd have been a very good season for them as being part of the top4 will be virtually impossible.

Completely and absolutely no chance. Nada! They will play in the Europa League next season.

Arsenal's league form since the Carling Cup final - DDDWDDWDDLWLLDDLL

That's abysmal.

I don't understand Wenger. He should have just gotten rid of Fabregas and Nasri earlier than he did and made enough signings to compensate for it. He's now left himself with 3 days and a lot of scope for signings made in haste. And world class players leaving with noone brought in not only brings the quality down, it also kills the confidence and morale of the unit. Well done Arsene!

they might not even make the europa league on this showing.

Six points behind Liverpool and Chelsea and a ridiculous ten goals behind is a stupendously big gap at the end of August. Unless they turn it around and stop the rot in their next three games then their odds will lengthen extraordinarily.

I've said it before. they wont finish 4th just because they are arsenal. liverpool will give them a bloody tough fight and i actually expect them to finish just ahead of arsenal.

Liverpool should finish 4th quite easily the way things are going
