Aston Villa vs Manchester United

So it's basically out full team for this match besides two positions.

All that panicking over nothing.

But Fletcher's injured, Nani's horribly inconsistent and Rafael is a work in progress, when it comes to defending.

The only real surprise is Giggs. Here's hoping we see the form from the first couple of games this season and he doesn't have one of his occasional nightmares.

Completely missed that Fletcher is out. Makes sense playing Giggs then I guess.

We need someone who can defend, first and foremost.

Raffael's biggest weakness is defending.

He's not that bad at defending, just a bit naive and out of position sometimes. At least he has pace that can help him recover.

Thats a myth, the same was said about Evra. And it turns out he was good at both. Rafael just needs minutes to prove himself.

Watch him against Celtic to see if it's a myth. And no I'm not talking about his defending for their goal.

And Evra was an awful defender when he came to us, he improved immensely after the first few months but he was still a poor defender.

O'Shea needs to keep up with the pace of the likes of Gabby and Young otherwise were going to get torn inside out on that RB slot.

Either way i think we have still have enough quality there to win this game. Our subs bench looks very strong as well.

Nonsense.

Evra was a poor defender, in his first few months at the club. Then he beefed up, became a little less reckless and developed into an excellent defender, by the following season.

Raffael is a poor defender and has been exposed, time and time again, for the reserves. I'm confident this side of his game will be sorted, with another few months coaching/experience.

But right now, O'Shea is the better defender of the two.

Anyone fancy Pm'ing me a good stream?

Red Pavan?

:D

Fantastic opportunity for us to make up some ground now.

I don't think the scoreline will be as high as previous games vs Villa though.

Hope O'Shea has a good game. Young might have murdered Rafael at the back. I'm sure he'll get some time on the pitch if we're ahead though, or if Villa are sitting back trying to protect a point or more.

Villa - United is going to be a massive game.

Both teams will be well up for this.

United have the chance to gain 2 points on Chelsea & Liverpool and extend their lead on Arsenal to 4 points.

Villa have the chance to leap over Arsenal in the table into fourth spot and be three points infront as well as better their goal difference now that Arsenal lost by three goals.

Can't wait!

Excellent results so far today, lets hope we don't feck it up.

4-0 win today

Fair enough, opinions differ, and as you said Evra developed into an excellent defender, by getting more 1st team opportunities. Rafael will learn alot faster being on the pitch, then sitting on his arse on the bench.

Either way, i still believe the team and bench is strong enough to get the win.

They gave us a sniff now we should be hunting blood, we have to be up for this now.

you are in the Bahamas it will be perfect

I am in SoCal it will be perfect

Had a feeling Fergie might play Giggs. Seems his sort of match, Villa away.

Can't see the logic behind O'Shea at right back myself, is Neville injured? Let's hope he concentrates on defending.

No tacklers in the middle.

Either Rooney or Tevez will have to play deep.

Thankfully Villa have no creative threat from the middle so it doesn't matter.
