Aston Villa Vs. Manchester United

The fact that he won the ball has nothing to do with it in my opinion. If the tackle was dangerous enough to cause some damage if he hadn't taken the ball then it should be a red card regardless. He went in with two feet with his studs up from what I'm reading on here. Haven't seen it myself, but if that's what happened then he deserves the red card.

I agree 100% if it had been the other way round we would of been screaming for the Villa player to be sent off.
It was a red card .ref had no choice ,we will have to live with it.

Hmmm just seen the sending off again, very silly boy Nani. He knew the second he'd done it that he was off.

Well what can you say.

I supposed we'd take a point from tonights game and hope that Chelsea can drop points.

Re Nani- he's just undone all that good work. Real idiots challenge. He got the ball, but it was a ridiculous challenge. So frustrated with him.

Has Evra taken the day off?

Giggs has been dire and brilliant in equal measure.

We're lucky that Scholes, Carrick and Fletcher are all playing well.

We look ropey from Villa set pieces.

Not particularly hopeful in all honesty.

Been reading the thread, Nani's sending off getting some very different opinons on here, I have not seen it yet so its all very confusing

How do we approach this second half now? Down to 10 men (still think Nani should have been given a yellow only). Do we sacrifice a midfielder and bring on Valencia to give us some more width down the right?

The ref has been shit so far, that too not taking the Nani red card in context.

Some of the rose tinted specs are incredible. It was a ridiculous challenge from Nani - you could see it coming. He jumped off the ground and launched in. He had no reason to do it and he's dropped us right in the mire.

With that logic Roy Keane should have been sent off with every tackle he made!

First half summary.

Silly Nani. Blind ref and assistant ref on a couple of occasions. How the hell did the assistant miss Young obstructing Rafael?

Rooney looking lively, Fletcher and Carrick pretty good too. Giggs beginning to warm up, Brown's been a little better than recent times.

The fact we have 10 players on the pitch does not matter. That tells you all you need to know about Manchester United.

We've played pretty well. Rooney is on top form and Scholes and Carrick have been pretty good. Giggs has been creative despite giving the ball away a couple of times.

Nani's challenge was silly, but no way was that a red.

Playing 60 mins with 10 men, even a draw would be a good result.

Got the ball. Not malicious, I don't think. But nonetheless, it was a stupid "tackle" to make. It was dangerous, he did lunge, he did show his studs.

I think everyone agrees it was a very harsh sending off.

The disagreement is about whether the challenge that caused it was silly or not. He dove in, with studs showing and both feet off the ground (although it wasn't a two-footed tackle). He did win the ball though. And possibly didn't even make any contact with the Villa player. Draw your own conclusions.

despite down to ten men we look good imo. With a bit of luck we could have scored allready with carricks shot or fletchers back heel. nanis challenge was indeed idiotic but a yellow would have been ok too imo. nevertheless we have it in us to win this game. come on

Agreed. Why couldn't he have tacked it normally without jumping up in the air with both his studs showing?

Valencia should be brought on for giggsy after the 60 min mark I think. The villa defence would have tired down a bit and his pace along with the width would come in handy

But.. But... Paul Scholes has been doing exactly that for the past 14 fecking years and nobody questions his intelligence. Shut the feck up you muppet.

So my post was so bad you felt the need for name calling? Is Nani your mum?

Giggs looks completely out of depth?

feck off!

I knew We were gonna lose this.

Giggs again? wtf?

Nani you fecking fool

So Nani finnaly cements his place in the team and he does this?

So Nani now suspended for 3 games?

Well done lad!

Giggs......

more of a miss and miss

Giggs losses the ball again.

The srious answer is actually that they hate us.

Can you please stop complaining? Thanks in advance.

Arsenal and Liverpool causing a major bore, resulting in a beyond complete walkout.

And there no hint of danger from Villa in that situation.

Really how stupid could one get.

If he'd have been out of form, he'd be getting absolutely caned by all posters on here.

It was a ridiculous challenge that he didn't need to make. He was lucky that he did take the ball because it could have been nasty.

We'd have expected red it a Villa player had been the perpetrator.

Villa are shite, can't really impose themselves eventho they are man up and at home.

We conceded an easy goal, can see us controlling the game if we score, never mind the red.

Nani went in stupidly in that tackle. There was no fecking point in that lunge... Middle of the park, crowded with players.. Texbook tackle(Scholes's textbook that is). He shouldn't be sent off tho IMO. Poor decision by the ref, it wasn't Petrov's ball at the first place.
