According to my Barcelona supporting friend, United and Chelsea were equally bad to Barcelona in the game yesterday and Rooney was as bad as Busquets when he lay down holding his leg in the wrong place because he was kicked by Ivanovic lower than he pretended to be.
I think they might be living in another dimension altogether.
I was just coming here to post my thoughts on Rooney since I rewatched the match.
There were two incidents I did't care for at all. The first was when Ivanovic should have got sent off, he was up and looking at Webb and then decided to lie down in pain. Uncalled for.
The other was in the second half when he lost the ball and goes chasing after it and as he runs past Ivanovic he flings himself as he touches him. Think he realized his mistake and quickly got up and Ivanovic had a laugh at Webb about it.
He was the only one but, it goes hand in hand with some of the behaviour of the Barca lot - looking to get someone from the opposition sent off.
Yesterday had a discussion with this contractor that is in from Guatemala, Barca fan and he was pointing out the all the fouls against Barca that weren't called and such justified why they need to play act and hound the ref. My response, shouldn't matter if that's the case - if you have any integrity then you don't stoop to that level. It reflects poorly on the club.
I still think Barca were so insecure in their ability to break down Madrid that they went in with the plan to try get someone sent off as the only way they'd succeed. Madrid on the other hand were made to believe the only way they could beat Barca was to constantly snipe at them and even foul them. Neither was becoming.
In the end I hope United play physical and the ref allows for it but, not in a dirty way and that Barca in the final will at least have the decency to not try get someone sent off as the only way to have an advantage - let them play their football, which on the day is good enough to beat anyone.
