I tried to get out of it, but stay tuned cause I'm going to allow myself to get dragged right back in it.
Thank you, and I didnt back off because I figured I was in the wrong. It's just obvious by the way he's going on about this discussion that logic and reasoning simply wont be enough to discuss a point.
What points did I make which were 'horrible' ? I was in no way trying to ram something down your throat, and I realise that it would be damn near impossible to do so anyways as it seems to be filled with Messi-cock replica's. The fact that
you are slating me for saying how something is, whilst you do the exact same thing to an even more extreme degree is just...just wrong. I bring up a balanced view on the matter, whilst you refuse to accept the reality of the situation.
I know that you will say that 'the reality of the situation is simply what I say it is', and that's fair enough. That's just what I am doing aswell, though I reckon my point of view will be the most supported one from a neutral fans perspective. It's obvious that you are not a neutral in this case, which is why it's hard to have a reasonable debate on the mat
ter. I accept that aswell, but I simply find it strange that you claim to be an expert on this matter, yet you refuse to listen to any other opinion on the matter besides your own.
Being a 'Messi dickrider', as you put it, will influence how you perceive Ronaldo and his antics. It's no use to say otherwise. I'm sure that you didnt feel as strongly about Ronaldo when you first got your eyes up for Messi, as they were not direct competition in terms of 'the worlds best player' at the time. It's got much to do with the fact that every time you hail Messi, someone is there to compare him to Ronaldo. And the more you try to make out your point about Messi, the more you feel the need to critisice Ronaldo. As I mentioned earlier, it's just the same way about many other subjects. Apple vs Others, "our midfield is shite" vs "our midfield is amazing". It all starts out with someone hailing / claiming one of the two as a fact, and always someone who'll say how wrong you are. Then you'll try to praise your opinion on the matter even more, and that other person will respond by saying how much better another product / opinion is, and this will continue up until the point where you've run out of praise and start to critisice the other persons preferences. In the Messi vs Ronaldo-debate on this forum, every single point has been made out for ages, and it's caused some posters to make out some extreme opinions on the matter, though it will be hard for them to recognise how that really happened. Which is why I'm pretty sure that you'll write this entire paragraph off as 'horrible point' and probably laugh it off aswell.
Just because you say it's a universal opinion doesnt make it true. Yes, you'll probably find that most people who support an English team will say that Ronaldo is the biggest diver of the two simply because of how they've seen him act during his time with us. Envy does also affect ones mind in this matter, and Cristiano being as good as he was for us will only enhance his reputation as a cheat, simply because of how much the opposition fans hated him playing for us. I'm sure that you'll find plenty of people who follows Spanish teams that will tell you that Messi is the biggest diver of the two, and some who will claim that Ronaldo is. It really isnt an universal opinion as, like on most other matters, the universal opinion is divided.
I'm sure that you think 'diving' when you hear 'Cristiano Ronaldo', and plenty of other people might do it aswell. Just like people will associate Messi with 'diving'. You are making your point by assuming that everyone else agrees with you, or have shares your frame of mind. As I mentioned earlier, do you really not see how Wigan-fans can have a different view on Ronaldo compared to a supporter who've probably not followed him during his breakthrough as one of the best players in the world? And are you
really trying to make your point come across by quoting a player from his fiercest rival club?
Ronaldo have been a massive diver earlier, and he still dives. Messi still dives. That's the issue here, and wether you accept it or not, one is really not much worse then the other. I'm sure that someone with your mindset, but a Ronaldo-supporter opposed to your Messi-support would argue the exact same thing that you are saying, and find videoes / quotes who'll work against Messi just the way you're trying to 'prove' that one is worse then the other. Even though something might be 'obvious' to you, does not mean that it's an absolute fact, and ridiculing a debate on the subject as 'stupid' because someone disagrees with your biased view really goes to show what this Ronaldo vs Messi-debate can do to a regular mind.
