Neville's 4-step plan to beat Bayern tonight...
United tonight-

1. Stay in the game first half
2. Create tension in stadium
3. Gain Confidence
4. Win

Easy on here! Haha
Sounds like a good plan to me.

Mirror also saying kagawa will start, along we smalling. Jones definitely right back if that's the case, Valencia and welbeck wings, Rooney up top, Carrick and fletcher in the middle? Really hope it's not giggs next to Carrick as it might leave us too light defensively, though we would definitely make some chances.
I'd go with fletcher, then sub giggs on later if we need a goal.

Fletcher would be a good addition, he hasn't been used enough in the big games. Although, we might see Cleverley? :nervous:

David McDonnell has been leaking the team line-ups for a while, the club even had him banned because of it, so I doubt he's making that up.

How is selecting giggs over kagawa a more cautious approach
Kagawa keeps the ball better, is better defensively, works harder, and is quicker and would be better going forward. He's literally better then giggs in every department (since giggs is 40), other then crossing really.

Would be really happy with that lineup though, arguably our strongest of the season all around I think. Only thing that would improve it would be Rafael at right back, but it'd be risky to play him against bayern given his form.

That leak sounds promising. I like the sound of Smalling, Fletcher, and Kagawa ahead of Rio, Fellaini, and Giggs(?)...Gives us more pace and mobility.

If the Mirror team news is true, it would be interesting to see if Wayne starts as the furthest forward or drops in as an additional midfielder. Welbeck can either play on the left or up top depending on what happens with Wayne. I'm kind of torn on that. On one side Welbeck running at the Bayern back 4 with pace was our best attacking outlet in the home leg and on the other side I'm really worried about Evra's wandering tendencies against Robben. You need a left back that stays tight to him not allowing to shoot at will.

If Wayne is upto it, him playing wide left would be the best solution.

Who's leaking the team again?

Rio. One of the last leaks prior to this one was about Rio getting his first start in ages, and now this time the 'main' thing is that he is dropped.

Considering the Bayern strengths this is a very very good lineup and exactly how he should set up.

Fletcher and Carrick will be suited to the slower possession based play of Peps bayern. Jones will be able to do a number on Ribery but I feel well concede a pen, Jones can try and compensate for being beat with a stupid tackle.

The front line is the best we can hope for with the players available.

I also feel Pep knows how we will play and try and incorporate a much faster pass and move game, utilizing the wings. Well put up a good fight but I think Pep will have us figured and they will come screaming out of the blocks. 3-1.

I'm a little concerned about Fletch starting 2 games in 5 days, not sure if it's enough where we will be required to chase shadows around for most of the game

If any of our players really has leaked the actual line-up to some tabloid hack I hope they never play for the club again.

The biggest game of the season (and of Moyes' United career to date) and we're giving the opposition manager an advantage before a ball has even been kicked. Infuriating.

I would settle for that with bringing Adnan on if we are chasing a goal.

As far as I am concerned if we go behind forget any caution and just go for it, even if we get thrashed. However, I expect us to do very well with that team. I have put $10 on United to be leading at half time. Gone for a 2-2 draw with United down to 10 men by 60 minute mark.

That's some serious c*ntery in my book, giving Bayern a chance to react to our formation before they have to submit their teamsheet.

Even if their team would remain unchanged, surely the extra time for Pep and company to prepare their players for a specific lineup is of service to them.

If it's Rio he can f*ck right off.

I tweeted my predicted XI for tonight's match this morning and it's turned exactly like the leaked XI.

What do I win?

Chuffed for Smalling and Kagawa. Both fully deserving of their places. Here's hoping Valencia can produce a performance we all know is in him, and Welbeck plays to his strengths.

Say what you like, but Bayern are scared of us. We can win this tonight.

Rio has built up a good relationship with that journo over time so he can take this opportunity to give Bayern false info :wenger:

So if it's true, why is Rio doing this? The bugger

Playing career almost over, probably wants to go into the media at some point so building relationship with journo won't do him any harm, probably a bit annoyed at his lack of playing time this season.

Im giving him the benefit of the doubt because it would be so out of order if he actually did it.

It could have been. Going into April Rooney was on fire, having one of the best seasons in memory, and we were favourites for the league and expected to reach yet another CL final. As bad weeks go that was a pretty special one.

Let's hope Bayern are trying to have a terrible one of their own.

Yep. Should've been 3 finals in a row.

Fletcher, Valencia, Nani and Rooney were amazing that season.

I don't think Rooney has ever played as good as that in his career and I doubt he ever will again.

Its not Rio , its not anyone within the team. Jesus why on earth would they leak a line up to the press for , how does it benefit them at all? Rio has played like a fecking shitbag this year but he loves the club
