Kagawa is our only player comfortable with all the pressing. Carrick's been the worst of the lot; Rooney and Valencia play on with Evra down injured while he immediately smacks the ball out of play to avoid the task of picking out a pass under pressure.

Not bad so far. They were always going to have more possession, but again they haven't had any amazing chances. Rooney should have done better with his chance. We've been unlucky with the ref so far and I hope that doesn't cost us. Clear foul missed on Evra, and Vidic's yellow was harsh.

Rooney has been terrible on the ball, Kagawa, Evra and Jones have played well.
he does look slower....the injury obviously affecting him. I doubt he will finish the match. Hernandez for him later on....

Bayern are very frustrated and we are defending well, but the problem is that we need somehow to score. I don't know why Rooney didn't pass to Kagawa on the beginning of the game, but that was our only chance during the first half.

Agreed, that was a terrible challenge, booking and a free kick in a really good area.
We need those kind of moments to even get in their half and have a breather!

I'd love to know the amount of touches Carrick has had, because i could probably count it on one hand. Fletch has been involved but he keeps giving the ball away, but atleast he's involved - Carrick has no excuses for that shit 1st half. He isnt even trying to get on the ball. Fletch fecks up, but he's back on it again. Carrick is invisible...
Sort of. Lots of sides used to sit back against barca at their peak but if they didn't score it was through last ditch greet defending and stuff like that. But they would open you up. That was as clear as day. Because you're defenders are always reacting. Bayern either are bottling it a bit or aren't nearly as good as that barca side in terms of skill and ability in attack.

Happily Bayern have decided to play the Barcelona way but with less quality. Now if we can just keep forcing Robben and Ribery inside, they are both to greedy to pass, I don't see them scoring.

If I were Guardiola I would be pushing those full backs outside of Robben and Ribery and trying to get the overlap, knock in some balls across the face of the goal, but Guardiola is too precious for that isn't he.

The Valencia offside is closer than I initially thought.

Excellent so far, exactly how it needed to be. Bayern lack cutting edge, we're defending well and the one (or two) chance will come. Keep frustrating them, we will get a set-piece or one through ball... Bayern are VERY nervous out there IMO.
