Im pleased to see him score and hear that he played much better in this game. It's more evidence to shut his doubters up with. I can see the ingredients he has to be a good winger/attacking midfielder for us. With his speed, agility, skill, physique and 2 footedness im confident we will make a player out of him.

I can't wait to see him play some games for us.

He's a good dribbler 1-on-1 and has lots of pace, but he's not good at finding space in tight situations, hence "needs acres of space ahead of him".

It's basically just saying that he needs to work on his awareness and understanding of the game, footballing intelligence if you will

So would you say he's a gifted player on the ball?

Bebe Got a Haircut ... Oh NO :'(
[:'(]

I was looking forward to see his lovely hair ;-)

but now they are not more ... what a pity

any words from you guys ?

Gay.

Can't wait to see him in action. Prove all the doubters wrong. Has anyone managed to get any pics of his home? Like the papers do the specials on their mansions etcs. Could say look feckers, take the piss out of his homelessness, look at his home now!

The Guardian are lining him up for more bashing in the media, by making next week's photoshop competition focused on him. It would be nice if some gifted United fans could balance out the inevitable deluge of animosity and ridicule, by entering some more positive contributions.

the abuse against bebe by the british press is truely disgraceful.

limited tactical understanding and close control/technique - so yes, if you believe the scouts report is accurate then his ball control skills aren't that good. (yet)

That's not so good.

Agreed. I'm fed up of the trash that some of the media are coming out with relating to Bebe. Of course it was going to take him time to adjust to playing for Manchester United, to living in a different country and, of course, getting used to being financially secure.

The sooner he starts playing for the 1st team and shutting the pessimists up, the better.

I think the abuse is to be expected of a media who have always gone for the lowest common denominator and so it won't or shouldn't come as a supprise to anybody around OT.

Bebe will be shielded from the worst of it by one of the best coaching staff in the business so I honestly wouldn't worry about it.

Todays news is tommorows chip paper.

all because some gimp talks out his arse on twitter. Amazing innit :D The funny thing as someone said is bebe probably has no idea what these morons are saying and so it's just a cheap shot. You need match fitness. Emotionally it's a gigantic step up and i suppose people that write bullshit wouldn't understand that because they will always be writing about other peoples achievements and trying to knock them for it.

Disgraceful and astonishing; with his story and rags-to-riches background, you'd imagine he would get a lot more love from the media.

Looks like Taylor is trying to get back at Ferguson.

Errr, it's a joke. They don't want and won't print "positive contributions" because there is no hope of them being in anyway funny and that is not what the gallery is about.

Some people on here are very sensitive altogether.

Are you arguing that perpetuating an image of Bebe as a failure in the media is something we as fans of his team should not be sensitive to?

What the feck are you on about?

"Perpetuating an image of bebe as a failure in the media".... Have you seen The Gallery before? They are usually bad, occasionally amusing photoshops on any number of players/managers from any club.

Also, if the media's view of a United player gets you this wound up, I'd seek some outside interests. It's not healthy. We, "as fans" should probably support him when he plays and judge him after a while... whatever others want to do is really irrelevant.

It's all a bit scouse, this whinging about media coverage.

If Liverpool spunked 7 million (reported, whether actually the true price or not) on a bloke who played in the homeless world cup and hadn't played above the Portugese Unibond League, we would be breaking our collective shites laughing at them. Regardless of whether he had potential or a a really hard shot.

So, I would say that it is entirely fair that people question Ferguson's sanity and generally have a laugh at us.

Who is this bloke you're talking about?

Bebe never played in the homeless world cup and was signed from a club in the Portugese first division.

It's shite like this which fuels the piss-taking. I'd expect it from Fleet Street's finest and rival fans but it's a shame that we've still got similarly ill-informed United fans.

Some people need to lighten up and not take things so seriously.

Football would be a far more dull sport without all the mickey-taking and banter.

This.

Also, jumping on Daniel Taylor's back just because that Gallery thing appears in the Guardian is stupid and childish. Apart from everything else, who's to say he's even involved?

Sorry, I have been away sunning myself and not taking an interest in any of this shite all summer.... is it not true that he played in the homeless world cup?

I don't really lap up all this transfer mallarkey as I am over the age of 12 but I had read in several places that he starred in some world cup for the homeless..

Just had a read and it now appears he wasn't even good enough to be selected in their squad. Sack Fergie, sell Bebe!

!

I thought he did too, nealry sure I have heard Fergie speaking about it - saying it was real fairy tale stuff.

He was signed from a Portuguese first division club, who only bought him just before we did. He has never played in the first division and has played only in the third division, iirc.

In relation to the homeless world cup thing, that was widely reported in all the media, and one could be forgiven for believing it at the time, as there was that much written about it.

Relax. It's a joke, as those pictures always are. Big deal.

Exactly.

Taylor was the journalist who to quote our manager launched a ''disgusting'' attack on the young player.

The more pertinent question is why are so many United fans so keen to defend Taylor's actions and take his side?

When we signed Chris Smalling he'd played about two hours of premier league football, other than that the vast majority of his first team football came in the Isthmian League Premier Division. He cost ten millionquid. What I'm saying is that Bebe's humble (in football terms) origins quite clearly aren't what's driving the derision he's getting, or Chris, who fell through the cracks of youth football even more dramatically than Bebe, would be getting the same.
