Berbatov | Fulham player

Did you ever watch Berbatov live at WHL? I saw him on three occasions and he was a joy to watch. I haven't seen him at OT this year as I've been out of the country, but watching from the telly I don't think I'm missing much this season.

Yes, I do only post about Berby because the rest of the lads gave us a fantastic season last year. Berbatov hasn't done nowt in a United shirt and till he does, I'll be a constant in his threads. So all you losers who attack the poster/poster's name instead what the poster is saying, don't stop. Getting personal is a sign that someone is losing an argument.

Berbatov has been wank, a write off season for him, one in which he failed to register any impact whatsoever. We really wouldn't be better or worse without him. We scored more last year without a recognized striker! Adding a 30m player and having a worse +\- tells you something is wrong. Especially considering how great our defense has been.

Weirdo.

Adding a £30m striker and winning the double would probably show that there's nothing wrong though, but don't let that get in the way of your thinking.

We all agree Bendy is better than Berby:

According to those stats Berbatov is considerably better than Bender.

But we all knew that anyway.

Strange post.

Considering Bentdner's played 800 less minutes, I don't think it's fair to say Berbatov's been considerably better than Bendtner at all.

Oh I think it's fair to say alright.

He is considerably better than him you see. Uses the ball better, more creative, better passer of the ball. Even defends better.

The only area where Bender seems to have the edge is in the air. Berbatov has been very dissapointing in that regard. Should be getting more headed goals.

Didn't need stats to tell us any of that, mind you.

Goals per start/minute - Bentdner's better.
Shots on target - Bendtner's better.
Key passes per minute - Bendtner's better.

I'd say those would be pretty important stats for a striker.

Oh Brwned

You are a simple man

I'd rather have a large boil on my arse than Bentdner in my team

And suffice to say, Berbatov is a whole different level of class better than him. Just hasn't quite come off at United as we'd like yet

"key passes per minute"

Even I would draw the line at using that stat in an argument!

As for the rest, Berbatov should be a bit quicker to shoot and should convert more headed chances. Two areas he needs to improve on. Every United fan would agree with this.

He's still miles better than Bender though. I love my stats but I don't need any stats to be 100% confident this is the case.

Not sure anyone is saying they'd prefer Bendtner (except an Arsenal fan) or that he's a better player, just that those stats suggest more than just being stronger in the air.

Berbatov is a better player, anybody could see that. Although Bendtner is a lot younger and a lot could happen in the next few years. He could end up a better player for all we know.

Take away Bender's headed goals - there's been a few of those, to be fair - and PS wouldn't even have posted those stats.

Berbatov's finishing, especially with his head, has been the biggest disappointment for me and is the main reason he doesn't have a lot more goals to his name. It's all the more disappointing because it's usually one of his strengths. It'll come good though.

People are arguing Bendtner is better than Berbatov on the strength of some random facts...
I'm losing the will to live.

Negative. One person (an Arsenal fan) is arguing that Bendtner is better, seemingly based on some stats from this season that he posted. One other person is arguing that Bendtner is better in the list of 'facts' (or stats)

No! Storey threw it in as an obvious wind up and Browned (who I'm sure is a closet gooner) ran with it .....I'm disappointed with myself for even commenting on such nonsense..

Nor do I, but it doesn't make sense to say "According to those stats Berbatov is considerably better than Bender."

And yes, Berbatov is 10 times the football Bendtner is, FWIW, to anyone who thinks I'm trying to argue either that 1. Bendtner's a better footballer or 2. Bendtner's had a better season.

I'm disappointed for you even talking such nonsense.

Seems like it's only you here who's missing the point completely.

And what might this wonderful point you are trying to make be Oh wise one?

Pogue: "According to those stats Berbatov is considerably better than Bender. "

Me: "Considering Bentdner's played 800 less minutes, I don't think it's fair to say Berbatov's been considerably better than Bendtner at all."

Pretty simple really, seems like everyone else could realise that too.

Yep, you add the three or four sitters he's missed to his goal tally and the debate dries up about him quite quickly.

the fact that people are comparing Berbatov to Bendtner sums up Berbs season - its been a big disappointment.....

Oh I see. Everyone totally agrees with your assessment that Berbatov is not considerably better than Bendtner....Riiiigght Ok!

Or didnt he realise your brilliant analogy either?

Yeah, but the debate about Berbatov is whether he's right for us, add 4 to his goal tally and it'd be a non starter.

People expect instant heroes these days...no fecking patience! Ask our good friend Mr Storey how long it took Bergkamp to settle and start scoring goals....And he didn't turn out too shoddy!

Mr Berbatov had the 'benefit' of two seasons with Spurs, one might expect him to hit the ground walking (running being probably a bit on the over-exerting side)

Learn how to read, I never said that.

You're being a hypocrite.
