If Bentley is worth £17m then Berbatov is easily worth £35M.Totally insane money.

If Berbatov is worth £35m then Ronaldo must be worth at least £100m. Money in the bank.

That anagram doesn't work.
Firstly, Veron is very relevant. Otherwise I could claim Ferguson has a great track record of buying from South America, but don't mention Kleberson, Veron or Forlán.
That kind of money is crazy for a twenty-seven year old. It just is. That's what we paid for a much younger Rio and a much younger Rooney. Two of the best players in the world; is Berbatov really that good?
I don't think so. I think he's talented, yes, and would probably do us good, but for that kind of money we're better off investing elsewhere.
All these people saying how strikers cost what they cost, and that what do us mere fans know about money and prices, are probably the exact same people who complain daily about how unfair Chelsea's limitless budgets are. We're no better if we just throw thirty million pounds around like it's nothing.
Both Berbs or Etoo will suit us (in their own ways). Each has his own strengths & weaknesses.
No, but maybe Fergie doesn't care. If he sees Berbatov as the player who will complete the side, why would he not sign him?Count Duckula said:That kind of money is crazy for a twenty-seven year old. Disagree. A good deal for any player is only a good deal if you haven't been taken to the cleaners.Sakes. You pay what you need to pay for the player you want, providing you have the money.
27 is a great age to sign a player. Its often when most players enter their peak years in the game. The problem these days (much bigger than it used to be) is that these often have a low sell-on value.People piss me off when they opine that 27 years old is old. Berbatov is not injury prone. He does not go through a lot of work on the field and he does not rely on pace. He is also an extremely lean athlete. All of these characteristics mean he can easily play on at a similar level to Zola and Bergkamp; i.e. into his mid thirties.
Cnuts.

That is because you don't rate him. Not because what you say is remotely going to happen if he signs for us.......
If Berbatov finished his career at United, and contributed to many honours, then its fine. I don't expect this to be the case though.
Fergie did say we were after a young player who we all assumed was a striker. If he truly wants Berbatov then that changes things. I wouldnt mind having him in our team because he is a great talent and a fantastic striker. I just worry about what we will have to do to get him here. 25m+ is a lot of money to be investing in a player of his age. It would be considered more of a short term deal than a long term one. But if it all works out for the best then who are we to complain about the fee? I just want us to get a good striker in before the season starts.

5 seasons is not short term. That is the sort of service we would be looking to get from him minimum. Players do not suddenly lose the plot when they reach 30!

Frank Lampard would demonstrate otherwise![]()
Its difficult to not rate him. He is clearly talented. Whether he is the right fit for our squad, both talent-wise and as a character, remains to be seen. I have doubts, based on things that I have seen with my own eyes. That is because you don't rate him. Not because what you say is remotely going to happen if he signs for us.
A) The EPL as you call it, is a league played on earth, same gravity, same rules, same sizes. All this no premier league experience is just rubbish, Ruud had no premier league experience and he raped it. Eto'o is perfect for the EPL.
B) He is what you call a natural top scorer. Berbatov is not.
C) Eto'o is 27 thats not an age where you would say pace he will start losing his pace, 30 yo Fat Ronaldo was still very fast at that age, and Eto'o is built for speed and pace, its his body shape, I wouldnt worry about that.
D) Eto'o is very strong and hard to knock off the ball, heading is not his best attribute but thats only because he is top at every other department.
Are there two B's in there? Cos I can't spot them.Rat Vomit Bride ??
