I suppose coz JohnO is the most versatile player it makes some sense to have him on the bench. I still think he has been our defender of the season so far though.

The fact is we have more than 11 players who should be in the team because they're all exellent players. When someone fecks up or needs a rest they rotate, tonight Giggs comes back for Ole who had a knee injury, Veron comes back in for Phil as Veron set up Forlan in the last game and is now fresh. O'Shea will have to wait until Gary or Mickey lose form, and Mickey could probably do with a rest, perhaps O'Shea will come on as sub for Mickey and make his case for that spot.

Correct, he might not mind being a utility player as at his age he just wants games, but I'm not yet sure which position he will make his own. He's left footed, so really left back would be his spot if not left centre back.

That he had a bustup with Ferguson is one. There's a young player getting too big for his boots, and the usual suspects (Richardson and Djordjic) are either out on loan or don't seem to be undergoing any punishment. John's continued absence from the starting line up is beginning to seem like penance.

Doesn't seem like the type to be honest. I'm currently studying (sort of) in Waterford, his home town. Nobody here has a bad word to say about him. Feet on the ground, always willing to help out local causes etc.

Richardson should really be playing in this game, but it clashed with the FA Youth Cup which was last night, we want to win that too this season and Kieran scored the second goal. Giggs though has a point to prove and should be given an opportunity too, he'll either be delighted that everyone knows he's engaged and getting married in the Summer, or pissed off that it was leaked to the press.
