I honestly don't get it... did Guardiola really say that he wanted to play for City? Did Bony ever say that he dreamt as a child to put on their jersey? Are they aware of where City was at that time?

I can't stand such comments as they're 1000% bullshit. Noone believes a word of it, not even the most deluded fan can hear that and think "ohh he did, how nice". Say that they've joined a nice club with lots of potential for silverware and such. But don't feed us bullcrap like you've got a tattoo of the club hidden somewhere on your body... I know it's media training and such, but seriously

But perhaps the delusion is stronger in some people?

If you repeat it enough then eventually it will stick. The younger generations won't know where City was 15-20 years ago. Much like the generation born after 2000 have grown up only seeing Chelsea's success and an 15-18 year old might say it's been a childhood dream of mine to follow in Drogba's footsteps and play for Chelsea.
 
I hope you're right. The current odds have them as 2nd favs, without the Pogba signing factored in (if it happens). Don't forget they'll get a lot of 'help' next season. You don't spend that kind of money without a media wankfest which inevitably trickles down to our wonderful premier league referees.

I don't think they have enough to beat us on a level playing field but I do expect some 'questionable' decisions.

Yes, signing Pogba would get the refs on our side. Guess they forgot the 4/5 decisions they got in the final 5/6 weeks to help them into 4th last season.
 
As true as there are career-ending injuries, there are also career-ending transfers.
Pogba's signing with the rags is definitely one.
I hope he enjoys seing his career taking a u-turn for the worse, fights for 4th spot while we rack-up silverware.
And by the way, it has to be the worst peace of football-business in history.
I swear if we ever buy-back Boateng for anything close to £50M we would be the mendatory laughing stock of the whole media-rag-sucking-balls pack.

The best thing about all of this is 1. They scraped 4th on goal difference. 2. Thier squad is in such a mess they couldnt even join the bidding war for Pogba if they wamted to. So much to patch up over there and Gundogan is a bit of a luxury.
 
If City signed Boateng for £50m i'd shit a large brick.

Ha ha, typical City numpties. Yeah we know it's only a friendly but they would have been lapping it up if Guardiola had won on his return. You can imagine all the comments can't you. "We've got him now". "The sign of things to come"...blah, blah, blah.

They're all trying to convince themselves that it was a good performance by the kids and it's a meaningless friendly (which it is of course) etc., until the reality check, followed by the customary accusations of being a rag!

What I like the least is how illiterate some of them are. And that coming from me whose first language isn't English. I go mad when I see someone write bad Croatian as well as English. Call me a grammar nazi but I can't take it.
