Its an equitable system for a group of nations who largly follow the same rules
South asian migrants are likely to be on higher incomes if they made it to the UK on some sort of employment visa.
If you mean British nationals of south asian descent, then again they are on a parity income wise with overall British polulation.
Oh good. That works so well with our alternative premier league, and other equitable justice systems that largely follow the same rules.
I'm not sure thats true and even if it is they are more likely to marry outside of the EU so disproportionately effected by the policy

Well no, the powers are in the hands of the governments member of the EU, in the hands of people elected in their own countries. Now if your problem is that all the countries have to find a common ground then it defies the idea of single market.

Yes, but if we are assuming that Japnese car makers will have to feck off from the UK then there will be similar consequenses for the german auto industry as well.
Neither are likely to happen as some sort of tariff free access will be sorted. And the number is just above 20%.
Instead of being snide, you could explain why the rate of VAT on UK energy bills is best determined by the EU? In a time of increasing fuel poverty, governments are bound by a tax higher than they would otherwise set.

No, the minimums are 5% for the reduced VAT used for services like energy or goods like medication and a normal rate of 15% for most goods and services.

The EU stipulates minimums of VAT for all products and services, below which a country may not go without unanimous agreement. The UK might wish to impose no such tax on utility bills, yet there is mandatory requirement of 5% or higher.
The lowest that the standard rate can go is 15%.

It would have been a worthy point of debate during the campaign IMO, but the discourse became dominated by worst-case scenarios (which already look a bit silly) and how many 100s of millions of pounds we send to Brussels.

I said minimum. You can set your own rate but the limits are 5% and 15%.
