Do you think there will be a Deal or No Deal?

In Italy, Ignazio Corrao (adviser to the deputy Prime Minister) has said that if there is a no-deal Brexit, Italy wouldn't abandon Britain and would be prepared to make a bilateral arrangement, separate to the EU. The full article's in the Telegraph.

Isn’t the Italian PM the Italian equivalent of Marine Le Pen, Nigel Farage and Geert Wilders?

Also, doesn’t that essentially break EU rules?

I think you're possibly thinking of Matteo Salvini? There is a surge of populist, Eurosceptic opinion in Italy right now.

I've no idea whether it breaks EU rules or not, but Corrao said that Britain isn't leaving the continent of Europe, it's leaving an organisation. Italians are also not ruling out leaving Europe in the future. Much of the talk may be sabre-rattling, I suspect.

It's one of the most populist and nebulous article that I have ever read, he doesn't mention a single fact or even debatable point, just clichés.

Good for him

Basically, brexiteers think their plans are shit too.

I must have missed it but did someone decide to line up all the Brits and tell them that all the idiots , racists and xenophobes should line up on the right and all the rest line up on the left.
Now you on the right, they said, the most stupid and incompetent ones will be put in charge of the government and the others on the right will vote for Brexit.

It isn't incompetence - this was the plan all along, IMO.

Yes and their polling under 10%.

True enough, mate.

On the plus side if we get a no deal brexit I can go to Switzerland and buy some really nice watches and reclaim all the vat right...

Hummmm might get that in my diary for the end of march

Falklands... Surprising... Thought he would send the tanks straight into Brussels and demand all the money we have ever paid back
Will be interesting to see how we could go to the Falklands, given that the new aircraft carriers are going to just be a base for American F35's for the next couple of years as we haven't completed the buying and training programme for UK pilots to be ok to fly them.

We also haven't got enough ships to maintain the defences around a carrier fleet at the moment either so that is a £9billion pound asset floating around the South Atlantic with no directly controlled air support, no clear Rules of engagement, inadequate destroyer protection and a dependence on fuel tankers to keep going (unlike American and French Nuclear carriers).

If we tried this I bet the Russians would happily encourage the Argentinians to loose of a few missiles. Hell even Al Qaeda or Isis would probably be able to take it out with a lucky attack. Just follow the fuel tankers and you'll find the carrier - simples!

It would be the biggest Military Debacle since the charge of the Light Brigade but with devastating consequences for the country.

or we could just tell trump that Argentina says he has little hands and is too scared to nuke them?

Ladies and gentlemen, Liam Fox. We need another vote, badly. This charade has to stop.

They will give a tax cut to everyone. But in real money, this will be pennies for the poor and millions for the very rich, like what Trump did.

 - who would be against this?! Love it!

Tax cuts that will impact on the wealthy much more than the poor - billions wasted on a star wars system and a total waste of public money creating a military base on the Falklands? I think most people, if they really thought about it would be extremely unimpressed. No mention of an extra £250 million a week for the NHS I noticed.

It's called Brexiteer economics.

They haven't considered what the consequences are. Too much thinking involved.
Cuts in government spending.
The poor don't pay income tax, stamp duty or business tax or capital gains tax but they voted for it. Well done.

Oh God here we go, tax successful people more and more so there’s less aspiration lower down the ladder to actually succeed and make an effort, gah!

Are people genuinely put off looking for success because they may pay a higher tax bracket? Has this ever been true?

Anyway all the tax cuts will see is a massive fall in public spending and infrastructure.

Err that’s not what I said at all!
I said being given everything and not ‘missing out’ on much makes the less successful less ambitious (perhaps).

+ I’d rather keep most of my hard earned cash thank you!

What an uninformed post. Just because I have to pay more tax doesnt mean I dont want to make more money.. the more money you make more than outweighs the tax.
Hasnt living in Canada taught you anything?

Well that’s kind of what you said to be honest. In any case are people put off “being successful” if they get some government assistance?

I’d also like to keep most of my cash as well but I’d quite like there to be more equality to ensure that there is less crime! Feck those that want to go back to the Victorian era!

Less tax! The N.Americans here scoff at how much taxes folks in Europe pay + snigger at the social tensions brought upon themselves.

Canadians are way more conservative than they appear (in my experience thus far).

Tax = less crime?
I think social policies may have something to do with that. Also, how much is too much? Seems the answer on the left is always ‘more taxes’!

Yeah taxation or rather public spending has a major impact on social policy.
