And what about if some banks decided to move in Europe?
The pound started rising last night, now up 3% on the dollar in 24hrs. I'm guessing that's because the markets got wind of the new inflation figure with likely future interest rates, rather than May's speech, but I'm not too sure. @Jippy will know?
Well the remain camp on here have been calling for her to speak about her plans fot months and now they want her to keep quiet.
Kinda ironic
Julia Hartley-Brewer on Newsnight just now was essentially saying that voices opposing any of this are inherently undemocratic![]()

Been a bit of a long night but will add comment I got later. Arduous tube journey- came to out east. Not sure what to make of a night out with a colleague- tit leaning on hand etc...The pound started rising last night, now up 3% on the dollar in 24hrs. Some might have more than ever, i holiday less than ever and frequent visits back to visit my dying parents cost me a lot due to the overpriced pound.

On the face of it baffled by sterling rally. Interest rates are lower for yonks despite rising inflation. Economy in a shitstorm.
Er, tit leaning. I'm nine years older than her and have been her sounding board in the past. Was odd though, wasn't sure what ws on the cards.Fecking colleagues eh, you should have just punched him in the mouth.

I want to hear politicians in Holland talking about Holland and not Europe, i feel so nothing for the rest of europe you would not believe it. Look at it as a whole entity, north to south, its so feckin divided and rotten its untrue.
Bring back tariffs and bring back fishing waters, gimme back my blue passport and the guilder. Moan about impending tax haven and look at Claud Junk while you do so.

This is particularly stupid seeing as you are in Holland. You're a tiny nation, you wouldn't be as rich as you are without the commerce from your neighbours
Millions of tonnes of freight pass through Holland and onto other nations and you want to make that more difficult.
Stick borders up everywhere. See how much poorer you'll become, because you will
And it still will. Think of all those cornish fishermen that will be delighted getting their fishing grounds back tooThis is particularly stupid seeing as you are in Holland. You're a tiny nation, you wouldn't be as rich as you are without the commerce from your neighbours

As i have said before, some dutch fisheries catch 87% of their haul on british waters, they are shit scared. Govts could always come to an agreement i spose, if they wanted like.Nobody ever took them away.
On a side note, you English are such fussy twats about eating fish there are huge numbers of species of seafood caught in British waters that can only be sold outside the UK, mainly in the EU. Will they be delighted about the barriers to trade too?

As far as Rotterdam shipping is concerned no, it wont an that's what I was responding to. Do you think t will all move back to Liverpool?Yet in your previous post you were arguing that the Dutch economy would be unharmed by restrictions on trade and movement. Teresa May isn't the only one trying to have cake and eat it.

I think I doI don't think you properly read the posts you respond to tbh.
It's a bit outdated but in 2013 the UK represented 4% of the seafood and fish imports to Netherland.
Remain would be crazyThe BrExit is already an unwise move, a NExit would be damn near suicidal.
Well in 2016 I watched an interview on the news with an actual dutch fishery owner that said the catch they were unloading( camera focused on this enormous haul being unloaded )consisted mostly of fish from British waters, 87% to be exact
It does, NL provides fish for much of Europe, a lot from UK waters. They could always make a deal with the uk...........oh wait, they cantI'm going to go ahead and guess that the Netherlands has more than one fishery.

I have?I think you've missed the point.
I think you've missed the point.
Well all of it is speculation, if UK does well in a few years time then it might be a game changer, if it goes to shit then everyone can carry on stagnating in the EU as they are nowNEXIT would literally mean nothing in reality. Germany is the biggest country and economy of Europe, and they've been our biggest and most important trade partner since forever, probably even centuries ago before 'Germany' existed. Post war Gulden was directly linked to Deutsche Mark, which means it was linked to the currency of the biggest ecomony of Europe, who are the biggest trade partner of 17 other European countries too.
A Dutch 'exit' wouldn't change all that. Shit, a government coming up with a plan to break ties with Germany and therefore Europe, that would probably literally be acting against some core articles of the constitution. So a Nexit would just be a chair switching game, renaming a couple of things to please the angry masses, while business continues as usual.
I doHe does that a lot. Like I said, I don't think he properly reads the post he responds to.
