I really hope the irony of the DUP spending a fortune to campaign for Brexit, and it leading to Northern Irelands effective annexation from the United Kingdom isn't lost on people.

It's hilariously stupid. I love their silence yesterday as well, I think they finally realise that they are not in as strong a position as they thought

He looks like a cartoon..... it's going to bother me until i figure out which one it is

It should be obvious by now why political non-entities like Farage & Rees-Mogg have been given such disproportionate coverage.

They remind us the cartoons of our childhoods?

Because they're a joke?
Not real?
Parodies of otherwise rational people?!
Should have a cartoon anvil dropped on their heads?

I don't know how anyone can be bothered to click on clips with titles like that anymore.

Apologies that you are offended by the title of the clip...

And yet the UK is still in the EU. Meanwhile its desperately begging for more time in it and a possibly frictionless trade and little changes to the present deal afterwards. Does that fills you with confidence regarding the prospect of the UK leaving the EU? Has there any country in the world who thrived despite cutting off from the very continent they are part of

The funny part of that clip is the Daily Mail Brexiter chappie boasting about the high UK employment figures and within seconds says there are not enough jobs for immigrants and then starts going on about illegal immigrants. What a tosser.

As for the economy, another opportunity for, "the UK haven't left yet".

The fish are being used as bargaining chips.

Transport for London officials stopped several Tory MPs, including Mr Rees-Mogg, boarding the trawler at Embankment and Westminster piers because of a licensing problem.

Mr Rees-Mogg then fled the protest before former Ukip leader – and Thames fishing protest veteranNigel Farage eventually boarded the boat.

Mr Farage joined fishermen in throwing a box of haddock into the river in protest after the UK agreed to remain subject to the EU’s Common Fisheries Policy during the 21-month transition period after Britain leaves the bloc next March.

The fishing industry feel they have been betrayed after Brexit ministers made promises about “taking back control” of fisheries policy.

Tory MPs Jacob Rees-Mogg, Anne-Marie Trevelyan and Craig Mackinlay gave a short press conference alongside the Fishing for Leave campaigners who organised the stunt but disappeared before Mr Farage arrival.

https://www.theguardian.com/politic...passports-set-to-be-made-by-franco-dutch-firm

Britain’s post-Brexit blue passport is set to be made by a Franco-Dutch firm, according to reports.

Changing the colour from the burgundy favoured across the EU is regarded by some Brexiters as a powerful symbol of Britain’s restored sovereignty.

But it was reported that British firm De La Rue had lost out to Gemalto, which is listed on the French and Dutch stock exchanges, in the race to win the £490m printing job.

I saw the CEO of the British firm that lost out yesterday on TV crying how unfair it was to his workers that they've lost the contract.

Yet that same company is happy to take business from 40+ other countries for their passports and currency. World class hypocrisy.

And that's not even it, De La Rue is clearly a french name Thomas De La Rue is holder of the Legion d'honneur, the highest french order of merit, when brexit is done they better comeback to the motherland.

We wanted free trade with everyone round the world right? Didn't want those protectionist EU policies anymore?

Well, they were outbid fair and square. Its a purely economic decision. Not to mention the hypocrisy you mention.

I've also seen a brexiteers AGAIN blaming the EU for this, saying its EU law that you have to put it out to companies across the EU. That doesn't mean that the government has to choose the French company? The French seem to do ok using their own company for their passports....

You cant expect honesty in public discourse anymore. There are always alternative facts to back up any line of "thinking".
