Bundesliga 13/14

Dortmund showing that they'll survive without Lewandowski. It's tactics > players with Klopp.

This offside trap is absurd, they're trying it at almost every opportunity.

Well, let's hope somewhere in that loss is a win :nervous:. If Pep starts with these tactics again, I go mental. The 4141 was working brilliantly, since then he wasted time training the 343 during the winterbreak, switched to a 4231, went back to the 4141 and now we have that 2323 bullshit and at the moment nothing is working as good as the formation we played at the end of last year. fecking nightmare.

You've got a manager that tries new things. Such horrible problems :(

And that's how you can also play against Bayern if you are a bit brave and not some kind of small underdog team from Manchester.

Yes, it is a dead rubber game, but it can still have an influence on a potential cup final between those two. Dortmund is playing without five regular starters (six if you count Kuba) and Bayern basically fielded their best possible team. The Reds have really hit a slump recently.

Klopp puts Lewandowski in. They want to score as many as possible. It's about sending a message now.

I remember several weeks before Madrid and munichs last meeting, Dortmund beat them and munich looked poor but they raised their level big time to face us. Big teams can raise their level so I wouldn't look to much into this. They will be much better when they play madrid

Dortmund has impressed me defensively. Their attack has sliced through bayern without breaking a sweat

Taking off defense head Hummels to rest him for Tuesday. Now, it really becomes a message.

Dead rubber, is a dead rubber...

Would you say the same if Liverpool would batter you? This fixture is never just a league game.

It is also not just the league, though. Even against you lot they were nowehere near their best.

Come on. It's nothing like the United - Liverpool rivalry.

One of Klopp's "secrets", is to have his players constantly moving around.

In the Champions League this season, no other team has ran as much as Dortmund. Each outfield player ran 12 kilometers per game on average. Compare that to United, where the average was 11.2 kilometers. That means that each Dortmund outfield player runs 8 pitch lenghts more than our outfield players. That's a significant difference.

True, but it is the closest comparision in terms of United. Dortmund´s biggest rival is more a matter of geography (similar to the Manchester duel) and I don´t even know who Bayern considers their biggest rival in history. Nürnberg? 1860?

It's more like united arsenal during the mid late 90s to early 00s isn't it?

Probably closer to the united-Chelsea rivalry between 2007-2011. Competing for the title always with each other, undisputed top 2 clubs in the country.

They're not headless chickens either. They press systematically and always make themselves available for passes around the guy on the ball. So it's good utliziation of the running as well.

So Dortmund runs 8km extra per game. That is "almost" an extra man on the pitch in terms of covered ground.

Yeah, but then you ignore the 90´s, when both Dortmund and Bayern were also huge rivals. Did not think of Arsenal, though. Thats probably the best fit in this analogy.

First time seeing this jojic guy. Seems a bit like gundogan in his stature. Was he bought as a replacement for him, or just to add depth?

1860 is basically the same as United - City, we even have matching colours . The biggest fan rivalry is probably with Nürnberg. Dortmund is much more like United - Arsenal. When both teams compete at the top level, they hate each other and enjoy the drama, but no one cares that much, when they aren't fighting against each other. We had the same with Gladbach in the 70's and Hamburg in the 80's. We don't have anything comparable to the United - Liverpool rivalry, as far as I know that's not only a football rivalry, it goes deeper because of the history between the two cities and that both teams ended up being the most successful football clubs in England lead to something special.

I didn't think about it like that, but you're absolutely right.

The more I see Dortmund perform at the highest level with limited resources, the more convinced I get that Klopp is exactly what we need. He's in my opinion the best coach in the world right now.

Yeah, was only thinning recent times. If arsenal were successful these last 5 years. Then you could say them probably. I know what you mean though, it's never just a game between the two. This if nothing is payback for the last league game between the two.

What said Grosskreutz is a bad player? Someone on this forum.

He's good. Everywhere and gives everything.

Bayern going into a slump at the wrong time?
We'll be back to our best against Real, we always are. Right now, I'm really glad we're playing Real in the semifinal, because there's no way, we underestimate them. Could have been different against Atletico or Chelsea. As long as Neuer isn't injured for more than a few days, I don't care that much about today.

Rafinha getting sent off for crawling Mkhi´s face

What a pussy...

Pep is experimenting way too much with tactics right now and winning the league so early on has done more harm than good in my opinion. Players just can't be arsed in the league anymore.

I wanted us to win that game, even though we've secured the title there are certain games that you just have to win. Beating Dortmund is also a huge boost as we haven't won against them at home for 4 years if I'm not mistaken. Damn it Pep! Hopefully they take something away from this performance, usually a loss like this gives us huge momentum going into the next matches.

Anyway, congrats @Sphaero , good performance by Dortmund. Winning 2:0 against Madrid and 3:0 against us in less than a week will be a massive confidence boost.
