I think if Bayern had a Lewandowski up front today they'd have won this match. Its the one area that needs real work for them. Today they've relied on Robben getting into the box and scoring a couple but he obviously cant play with his back to goal or do the rest of a striking role, and hes getting there from the wing where he reallly should be

Yeah, I agree. I've always said striker was their weak point, and the one position where they only have a decent player in, and not a very good one. Mandzukic is decent but he's not a very good goalscorer. Scoring only 20 goals in that bayern team last season isn't very good.

Yes. Dortmund tried to offer him a way out this season if he would go to a foreign team but he refused to even entertain the thought. There is also a rumor going around that his agents got quite a lot of money from Bayern for that deal so they are basically in a pre-contract situation of some sort.
Yeah it's why so many who regularly watched Dortmund rate him so highly, not just because he can score goals but because his link up play is just as good.
I think he's fine, he's mobile and pulls onto the flanks well and he's very good in the air. Its just Lewandowski does the "basics" of a traditional lead the line striker so, so well and his feet are so good on the ball. He brings the ball out of the air so well. He plays with his back to goal so well. He links up with team mates and makes the right passes so well. He uses his good feet to run with the ball so well. And obviously he's a good finisher and scores goals too. He's like the perfect striker for AMs to play off of and get the ball back from in good areas
