Shamelessly stolen from reddit.

Hilarious, the game could go on for another year and he still wouldn't score.

His overall career goal-scoring record is still very good, mind.

Standard Cavani. Well, not this bad, but he's not reliable in the slightest. I still don't know why so many people wanted him here.

By the way, those di Maria passes.

The only thing I noticed there is Di Maria is a chance creating machine god I wish we had him back.

Crap player.

I shamelessly bought into the Napoli hype/YouTube compilations, but after seeing him over 90 minutes in the CL/World Cup on multiple occasions I realised he was not the player I thought he was.

He's always been a donkey, but unfortunaly many bought the hype around him.

He doesn't even stand out in Ligue 1. I think Emery putting his faith in Cavani is going to cost them in Europe. Not the league itself, as they're just too good compared to the rest, but definitely in Europe. They seem to have everything bar a good striker. Not even a top one; just a good one.
Would people really want Di Maria back? No thanks.
Sadly, I wouldn't take him back as he just didn't have the mentality to succeed here. Though, that doesn't mean I won't praise him as he's still one of my favourite footballers to watch when on his game, and is for sure one of the best chance creators in world football. I wish he had succeeded here.

Hell no. Apart from the charade of him never wanting to join us in the first place, whose place in the team would he take? We've quality players who really want to play for us already struggling for games. Di Maria can feck off.

I wouldn't want him back either but that's an easy one. Take out Rooney, play a midfield 3 of Fellaini(?), Pogba and di Maria akin to how Angel played at Madrid with Modric and Alonso, and Bob's your uncle.

Such a weird player, even Rooney would laugh at some of his displays.

would be beastly to have di maria here now and performing at that level, some of those passes and chances he created were insane, shame. we would def be a contender in europe if we had:

ibra
pogba
di maria
de gea
martial
mkhitaryan
bailly
shaw
mata

Di Maria is world class.

Laughable how we had Ashley Young playing ahead of him towards the end.

That's because Di Maria was dogshite and Young was our best player in the run in. One of the more sensible things LVG did.

Surely PSG need a new striker? Cavani will cost them any chance they'd have in the CL.

Yup, that's the Cavani every time I watch him at PSG.

Always wondered how he racked so many goals throughout his career.

I was kind of horrified when it was rumoured we were interested in him, but this is something else entirely.

The penultimate clip is worse than any of the actual misses, though. Sure, by the time he got the ball under control he wasn't in as easy a position to score as he should have been, but still what self-respecting centre forward turns around and passes the ball way back when they're that close to goal?! It wasn't even an attempted lay-off or assist, just an unabashed 'I don't reckon I can score from here, let's give up and try again in five minutes.'

Yes, think Mourinho would be able to handle him much better than LvG

Under mourinho , yes .

Poor management was far from his only problem here.

Agreed.

1000%

We would walk all 3 domestic competitions and the EL.

I would go as far as saying challenge for CL

Complete speculation which ignores his time here entirely.

He was a beast for Napoli. A true box-to-box striker who was constantly a goal scoring threat.

He seems to have gone through a Shevchenko or Torres style collapse.

Di Maria was poor because of LvGs terrible management and tactics.

No other side or manager in the world would have Young over AdM
