Worst of the best
Brilliant.
I hope they can get through now but I doubt it

Unfair on Legia? It is their own mistake, how stupid can you be to do something like that near the end of the game.
Glad for Celtic!
No, they can't. It's final, they are out of CL and into EL qualifiers. Can Legia appeal the decision? Is there time?
Well the draw for the next round is happening very soon, so know I dont think they can do anythingCan Legia appeal the decision? Is there time?

You can only be suspended for games you're registered to play in. If they didn't register him then he was still suspended. He wasn't suspended for the game they played him in. He was for the games against St Patricks and first leg against Celtic. Actually at this point it isn't clear they have not put him on the list againt the Irish - it's Celtic who told UEFA they hadn't.
Stupid from Legia but also ridiculous from UEFA IMO, they messed up the paperwork against St Patricks, that's all - you don't throw teams out of competition for that. Surely it's the first time ever?
As someone who lives in Scotland, and doesn't support Celtic or Rangers, it's natural that I depise both.
This decision is awful, I have celtic fans celebrating on facebook and calling Legia a bunch of cheats. Ughh.
UEFA didn't throw them out, no matter how many times you say it. They applied the standard penalty for fielding an in eligible player, 3-0 forfeit. It just so happened that this resulted in Legia losing on away goals.
That's the rule, yes. Legia should have been aware of that but made an administrative error. The punishment here does not fit the crime, absolutely no advantage whatsoever gained, honest mistake and UEFA should have some sensibility. I'm done discussing it though, if people want to call us cheats and think Celtic somehow deserved to go through then they're probably within their right to think so. I'm pissed because I know well that it wouldn't happen to a bigger club and it's a daft decision. You can only be suspended for games you're registered to play in. If they didn't register him then he was still suspended.
Why didn't they do it when the team in question was Litex Lovech instead of Celtic?
I've answered my own question here though I think.
Not anti-Polish though but UEFA do like to favour the big clubs. There is probably a huge anti-Polish conspiracy. Well spotted.
I actually agree with @Sarni
I highly doubt for example, if it was us who were in Warsaws situation, that we'd be chucked out.
There is probably a huge anti-Polish conspiracy. Well spotted.
But, can you answer why the same didn't happen then?
Their reasoning was that Debrecen had "no interest in fielding this player for the three last minutes of additional time, when the score was so clearly in its favour".
Surely, the same happened in this game as well. Player came on in 86th minute, with Legia leading 6-1 on aggregate.
Hope Celtic get thrashed in the next round. The player for Legia who loses two pens must be feeling pretty bad.
This is the both the SFA's and the SPL clubs' own fault. They offered the option to the clubs in the Premiership to vote on whether Rangers should be permitted to retain their status or be demoted to the lowest level. Pretty much out of spite they chose the later. It is difficult to imagine a worse case of cutting your nose off to spite your face and the subsequent lack of income from matchdays vs a powerful Rangers team has not only hurt the SPL teams but pretty much destroyed the league as a competitive entity and it's attractiveness to Euro players on the up and looking for exposure. They are reaping exactly what they deserve for their shortsightedness.Something's gotta give. You'd think it would be the return of Rangers, but the league is in dire shape. Holds no attraction to foreign stars, and even if Celtic were to attract good young talent, the board would simply sell them off after a few years for a profit.

Sorry, don't quite understand this. What was the big deal with some player missing two penalties for Legia? They won 6-1 on aggregate anyway, so how would it affect the outcome at all?

They forfeit the second leg with a 3-0 loss so it's actually 4-4 on aggregate. Celtic go through on away goals.
First leg was 4-1 with the player missing two pens.
The second leg was a 3-0 forfeit win for Celtic. Celtic go through on away goals.

UEFA can't change the rules after the fact. You may have not cheated but your club is guilty of gross mismanagement and have nobody to blame but themselves. A bigger club are unlikely to have made such a big error. Have you got examples? That's the rule, yes. Legia should have been aware of that but made an administrative error. The punishment here does not fit the crime, absolutely no advantage whatsoever gained, honest mistake and UEFA should have some sensibility. And now the other SPL teams are suffering along with them. Shortsighted spitefulness in the extreme. Idiotic in fact. They could have found other ways to punish them, such as points deductions on top of their fines etc. etc.And Rangers are reaping what they deserve in the lower leagues.
