Cerezo Osaka v Manchester United

Fair play it was a good finish for the goal. Cut inside, and then went near post knowing Lindegaard was blinded by the defender.

Welbeck has looked sharp. Kagawa with a lot of smart passes but that miss, oh deary me...

RvP has been brilliant except for shite finishing. Jones has been Phil Jones in midfield. Partnered by Giggs, whose brilliant moments have all been when he's decided to play as a winger for a minute or two.

Young has actually looked decent enough. Smalling's rusty as hell. Ferdinand's done a couple of strange things. Lindegaard just doesn't look assured, kicking's shite. Büttner and Rafael's miles off the pace.

So yeah. Quite shite really.

He does though? When recently would you have seen him shooting from 25 yards out?

He's playing very, very well.
A single shot on the post does not make this a different Welbeck. He's the exact same as always: Combining well, showing great technique and initiative.

The Paddy Crerand Show, making me watch that would be the equivalent of waterboarding me.

Despite his ridiculous miss, Kagawa has been our best player so far.

Must be weird for him to play in front his "mentor", Levir Culpi, back in his hometown after 3 years. Clearly a bit of pressure going on.

So I FINALLY got my stream running and all I get was a glimpse of the stats, the result and so on.

What I miss?

I'm watching an American stream. The broadcaster could make Kettering v Darlington seem like Clash of the Titans, what with exploding club crests, heavy metal by Beethoven, nuclear fireworks etc.

I can't see us not scoring. I think if we we really step it up in the 2nd half as we did in the final 10 or so minutes, we'll win this.

I agree Kagawa looked very good apart from that miss. I hate those long balls we play though. There's absolutely nothing coming from them and it just shows that our players are not running enough off the ball. I know it's hot and all but still.

 I'm just glad the only moments I watch football commentated by americans is pre season one otherwise I think I'd shoot myself.

Thats the problem with a Giggs/Jones midfield though. They are runners not finesse passers.

Sure Giggsy has a Hollywood ball in him, but its not consistent passing that is required. We simply are a hit and run team with a midfield like that, unless they can find the strikers with feet we simply smash it over the defence. That MUST change.

Cerezo for me looked the better team in that half but signs that they are fading , can see us getting a couple.

No, they're currently placed 5th in the 1 division.

EDIT:
And only 6 points behind the first place.

Cheers, decent standard of oppo then. I just remember when Kagawa joined Dortmund from them much was made about how he had come from the 2nd division of Japanese football.

It's the goals we're conceding that have me a little worried.

Ah well, a few 3-2 and 5-4 scorelines like last season would be welcome again. Makes things more exciting against the poor opposition.

Tbf, Japanese football is ridiculously competitive. In just 20 years of professional football, there have been 9 different winners. No teams are safe, and teams that get promoted from the 2nd division can actually win immediately. I'm not mistaken, that's what happened in 2011 with Kashiwa Reysol.
