Champions League Final 2016 - 28/05

Oblak seemed more intent on putting the penalty taker off than just picking a side and committing to it. Completely reduced his chances of saving any. Ridiculous approach to a shootout of that importance.

Conversation between my mates and I:

"Ronaldo will take the last one."
"100% guaranteed that he wants to decide it all."
"Yep. Watch the shirt come off when he scores it."

Congratulations on predicting Ronaldo will take his shirt off.

God I hate Real Madrid so much. Bad from Oblak though. What a pity. So undeserved. My last post remaining for today. ^^

2 cl in 3 years of god, if CR7 wins the ballon it is so undeserved. Messi was not amazing also this season. Give it Suarez. Or DDG. ;p

I genuinely can't get over Oblak. What the feck was he doing?

Since Torres didn't even take a penalty, then why the feck was he kept on all the damn time?

Oblak so dumb(and immobile). By 2nd Real penalty it should have been obvious to him what there plan is.

First time I've actually had a sliver of dislike for Ronaldo. It's all about him. No wonder he and Mourinho didn't get on. Two massive egos.

Maybe it was the comments yesterday. Feel guilty.
I think he is a cnut, it is always just about him , you only have to see his reactions when another player scores, he is not a team player any more , its all for him.

Oblak's efforts were shit. Stood around for half of them.

Bastards Real

I'm surprised Ronaldo didn't kiss Carrasco's girlfriend after he scored. What a wanker.

"amazing penalties"

I disagree.

Marcelo's and Gabi's were probably the only penalties that were actually quite good. The rest were a case of "keeper guessing the wrong corner".

Oblak didn't dive for any of them. Stupid.

I actually think he was trying to save a shot in the middle, hoping that someone will go for it. I do, however, agree that he diminished his chances massively.

Is this the first CL winner who did not have a single impressive performance in the knockouts? You could perhaps count Wolfsburg but otherwise they were plain average until the end.

Oblak could have jumped to the left side after all Madrid players shot to the same side

Watch the headlines be written in Ronaldos name now, and watch him win the Ballon d'Or over a CL win

They lost so they did not play better... Unfortunately.

That logic just doesn't work - not in normal matches and definitely not in penalties. As much as people try to deny it, luck is a factor. Bayern v Chelsea.

Within this match itself, I don't think either team was significantly better.

This has to be the worst performance from a keeper in penalties i've ever seen. fecking hell oblak.

Very undeserved CL win for Real (after having an easy run to the final). An offside goal to take the early lead, then they just sat back all game. Ronaldo and Benzema were abysmal, only Bale had a somewhat decent game. If Griezmann scores his penalty, it might have turned out to be a very different result. Feel for Atletico fans who just lost their second CL final to their local rivals in 3 years.
