Champions League Quarter Finals 2020/21 - Apr 6/7 & 13/14

What is Can doing?! That's the clearest handball I've seen for a while.

Can see why that was given. It did come off his head but he put himself in an awkward position stretching his arm out like that. Is the ball hitting your head really an excuse when your arm is out like that?

didn't see it.. was it a penalty?

So they count that part of the arm as usable when they look for offside but then call it handball? Right...

A disallowed goal for no reason in the first game, and a penalty that shouldn’t be. They’re not even trying to hide it

Penalty given because he stretches his arm out. Stupid move by Can

It's easy to see why people can sometimes say refs have been bought, city with some big decisions their way in both games  jammy cnuts. Hope haaland smashes in a hattrick now.

Dahoud's been one of the best players in both matches in my opinion. And that one shot was from a great position, so can't really fault him for trying from there.

He's been shit and yes you can, when you've got Haaland in your team it's simple you get the ball to him at every opportunity

Hmm headed onto his own arm but the position of his arm was very weird tbh.

Yeah I think that’s why they gave it. It was like he stretched his arm out as a back up in case he missed it with his head and then got the ball with both.

Stupid move by Can in such an important context.

It came off his head first.

But his arm controlled the header from going anywhere dangerous. Otherwise, you should put your arms in front of the ball after any header. Instant control.

I just can't believe a decision that terrible probably decides a CL semi-final.

I can see why it's being given but it's very harsh.

Add to that the disallowed goal for Dortmund in the first leg though which should've clearly stood and it's definitely been an awkward tie in regards to the refereeing decisions.

I thought if the ball bounces off a legal body part then it's not a penalty and Can headed it onto his shoulder?!
Is it perhaps superseded by having an arm in an unnatural position in the first place?

If the rule is the rule then why are they ignoring the rule to give what they think should be the rule?

Didn't think it could be handball as deflected on to his arm by his head?

Pretty certain it's a mistake by VAR.

That was not a natural position for Can’s arm tbf. It’s a deflection but still pen for me.

Can see why that was given. It did come off his head but he put himself in an awkward position stretching his arm out like that.
But the ball hits his head first so the awkward arm stretched out doesnt matter? It just looks weird but it did hit his head and after that he had no time to react.

Haaland looks bored out there.
