Champions League Quarter Finals 2020/21 - Apr 6/7 & 13/14

You’d think with the experience Can has gained over the years in his career he’d have err experience but he has no brain in that massive head of his,

he’s such a dumb player

I thought the rule was if it comes off your own head/body before hitting your arm, it wasn't a pen?

If you're trying to reach the ball with your head with a quick change of direction, that's a natural position for your arm to help with the turn and balance.

Stupid decision yet again.

Where the hell are Dortmund's own offensives? Reus, Knauff, Haaland haven't been able to get things going in City's half.

Yeah I think that’s why they gave it. It was like he stretched his arm out as a back up in case he missed it with his head and then got the ball with both.

Stupid move by Can in such an important context.

I really don't see how his arm is relevant, if you head it first then it's simply not a handball. It's so high as well

But the ball hits his head first so the awkward arm stretched out doesnt matter? It just looks weird but it did hit his head and after that he had no time to react.
To be fair I don't know how the rule is written but that wasn't unlucky as he was careless. Can't feel too sorry for him in this case to me.

To be fair even with no VAR the pen would have been given as the ref blew up right away.

But with VAR we were supposed to not have these decisions happen anymore? VAR was supposed to eliminate the silly and wrong decisions, instead it's creating more wrong decisions than right

So you can just raise your arms to touch the ball after every header? How does that make any sense?

It's quite impressive how at top level professional sport with millionaire participants, that even with technology and replays, we still get really random and shite decisions like that. There will be another game where the same exact incident will happen and the penalty isn't given. It's just so random.

He also clearly had his arm out because he was reversing his momentum, it had nothing to do with the ball. Ridiculous. I'd feel so gross winning like that if I were a City fan.
