Aren't strategic yellows now banned and something UEFA can look at?
It was not a strategic yellow.

If this is the best team Germany has to offer, then oh man they're in major decline.
Might stick a bet on Liverpool to score more than 3 goals vs Bayern at Anfield ..
You could say that about Real a lot of times in the CL in recent seasons.
Yeah I'm sure it wasn't. Now he's free to play the Quarters, not strategic at all.It was not a strategic yellow.
Yea they beat Atletico Madrid 4-0 but they aren't that good
They've crippled by injury on both the offensive and defensive end but still I'm mad Favre didn't do anything to change what was going on.
Aside from Bayern last year, it didn’t happen that often.
Ajax should have played it safe and tried to keep the 1-1. It was very stupid the way they played after their goal.
I'm honestly surprised, I expected a lot more from Dortmund. I get that they have injuries to key players, but so do we.
Second half we totally shut them down and Vertonghen was rampant down that left hand side.
I think it's VARy unlikely.Call me delusional if you want, but based on what I saw today, I can see Ajax advancing.
Not saying who's right or wrong here but taking a one single game from months ago where the scoreline in no way reflected the match (and was played at home!) to make your point feels like clutching at straws a bit.![]()
Feck off. You whine about your injuries but Dortmund were without 5 starters.

1-1 is not a good result at home. They had to go for another goal.
I have a feeling that Spurs might surprise a few people and go through in a commanding way. Dortmund haven't convinced me since the winter break and they will miss Reus more than Tottenham will miss Kane (and Alli).
Yeah I think it was Alonso or Ramos? Not sure how they can prove it but I think everyone knows he did this because this tie was pretty much in the bag and the second leg is a great game to miss.Yeah I think Real got in trouble a few years ago for this. But if the yellow card is given for a tackle can you really prove it was deliberate?
They definitely weren’t playing like it though.
Madrid were there for the taking. Incredible how they got away with this result
So what's new? They definitely weren’t playing like it though.

You don't nearly the same amount of important players out. Kane, Alli, Davies vs Reus, Paco, Akanji, Weigl and Pizseck.

Yep, Ajax, Utd or BVB advancing would be a huge surprise.3/4 of the ties are done and dusted
Injuries mean you can't play with any intensity in the second half and allow Jan Vertonghen to run rampant down the left hand side? It was an embarrassment. Yes you're going to be limited in an attacking sense when missing guys like Reus but you still try and keep the scoreline down and don't constantly lose the ball in stupid areas. We're missing two of our best players including the star player at the club so it's not like we were at full strength either, 3-0 is a terrible scoreline considering this is a side who are clear at the top by 5 points.
We were utterly crippled by injuries at Stamford Bridge in the cup (Son, Lucas, Kane, Alli missing, Sissoko came off early) but still made it competitive and ended up taking it to pens. There is no excuse for how poor Dortmund were in that second half for a side top of the league, no excuse at all.
So what's new?
Anyone who uses one off matches as an indicator of league quality needs to be sectioned in a room with @Wumminator
Dahoud instead of Reus, Pulisic instead of Guerreiro (fitness issue? rotation?), a third CB instead of Piszczek. Plus Alcacer still not fit.
Massive downgrade in quality going forward and too much to handle for Dortmund, who already were in a bad spell. Spurs did very well without their key players, but in the 2nd half it was mainly Dortmund who weren't good enough in possession, imo.
Hoffenheim and Bremen scored 3 goals against Dortmund (away from home), so don't get so giddy about doing the same. Dortmund is crippled with injuries right now and have hit a really bad patch of form. Pizseck would've been the starting RB today as Hakimi has been playing LB the whole season. There is a very decent chance that Pizseck would've been defensively strong on the right side.
Anyways, bask in the glory of the win. You deserved it. But Dortmund are much much better than this and are missing many more key players than Spurs.
EDIT: Also, I hate you and I hate Tottenham![]()
Eh, could also point to German teams in general in Europe recently. The league has dropped down a level IMO and tonight was just another example of that. I wouldn't be surprised if Liverpool simply emphasised this point next week.
Eh, could also point to German teams in general in Europe recently. The league has dropped down a level IMO and tonight was just another example of that, not so long ago they were neck and neck with the PL and ahead of Serie A, now I think they're a clear 4th. I wouldn't be surprised if Liverpool simply emphasised this point next week.
I think that's Zagadou, but the result is the same. Weigl has been one of the few really good players in 2019.Plus Diallo was rushed back from injury.
