Charlton vs Manchester United

Ah, the initial shot from Rooney that led to the goal was deflected.

Ive been thinking the opposite, we've been very commited all over the pitch IMO. Pressing them high up the pitch, winning back possession well.

Good display so far.
some players have bite, others not. some sloppy game play sometimes, rooney the only one who really tries, probably scholes and smith too. the others (giggs for example) stand on the pitch not doing much

and winning the ball back is more because charlton's passes are very poor, not because we fight that hard

Disagree. Everyone but O'Shea is playing well IMO. Takes a team effort to press like we're doing.
giggs, keano, fletch are way too quiet, rio, brown and o'shea very passive, we're lucky that charlton isnt able to put more pressure on us and play better football

fecking took scholsey out of my fantasy team for the suspension last week and forgot to put him back in today. goal and assist so far and its not even half time

Charlton are shit. We should get 5 or 6 here if things stay the same. Charlton might pick up there game though.

thats the scholes we want to see!!! great game by him, well taken goal by fletch

Half Time :Showed how Scholes is a very important part of the team.Working well with Rooney.

If we can't pass the ball against this shower of shite we're in trouble
But these are the games we've struggled with this season, poor sides sticking every man behind the ball and scrapping. We've not had much problem in the bigger games.

With that in mind I think this has been a very good performance so far, we just look far more hungry than in recent weeks. Perhaps Michel is right in that maybe Keano is a bit passive, O'Shea was poor until his part in the 2nd goal, but as a team I think we've pressed all over the pitch, we've made them give us the ball back because all they can do is smack it long.

To be honest though, Scholes is very lucky to be on the field to make that pass to Fletcher.

good first half, good team effort, sometimes nice, fast one-touch football, but with the chances we had, we should be leading by 3-4 goals. some players have to step up and be more active, especially our midfield (except scholes) and the defenders. again rooney is the best player, amazing how much of the pitch he covers, he's everywhere, upfront, left wing, right wing, own midfield, penalty box... just amazing!

Good stuff, looking sharp, and we could have been 4 or 5 up.

didnt see that fletch hit the ball with his backheel to smith, but a fantastic save denied it.
