They should get a boost in performance once Zouma comes back into their defense. Their defense at the moment is a huge liability for them.

Chelsea having some United esque problems with a number of high profile long serving players clearly not good enough. They're gonna concede a ridiculous amount of goals this season.
It's the same with the keeper, he's mouthing off about his career plans, showing no respect for Chelsea.

I rate Conte super highly, but the current performances suggest Mourinho isn't completely to blame for their collapse last season. A lot of their players have suffered from huge drops in form, similar to the likes of Valencia / Nani for us going from two of the best wingers in the league to plodders. Fabregas especially used to be one of the league's best midfielders...
Had them marked down to struggle even for a top 6 finish this season - more proof of the pudding so far today.

They have seven defensive players on the pitch at the moment (plus Courtouis), and look an absolute mess.
Agree with this. The likes of Ivanovic and Cahill aren't good enough and there's something very uninspiring about their attacking options (in spite of having some very good players).

It's looking like he doesn't have the players to play his defensive game. He builds his teams on being defensively solid and if even he can't do that then that should tell you about the quality of the defenders that he has to work with.
No way Conte is sacked before Christmas. There's no one who is available that can do a better job.
With that said, Chelsea are an absolute shambles. Matic for me has been particularly uninspiring with his sloppy play, along with Cahill.

It's quite impressive that they (chelsea) haven't created one single corner during 80 min of play, or if the credit should go to arsenal. Impressive either way.

He's a bit like Schneiderlin at the moment, doesn't seem to actually do anything on the pitch.
Hopefully after todays performance he mixes things up. I'd like to see Terry, Zouma and Luiz in a back three and Bats upfront with Costa. Ivanovic and Matic can have a nice break from the first team.
Courtois has been horrible.
He's really flattered to deceive since returning to Chelsea overall, don't know where he thinks he's gonna end up back in Spain (where he keeps saying he wants to return eventually) but he's currently not better than any of Atletico, Barcelona or Real's keepers.
I'm sure he was keen on a lot of defenders the fact he settled for Luiz was a shock to me as he's not a Conte type of defender.
