Chelsea 2016/17 - Very Content

Good to see Hazard grab a couple of goals, even though we weren't able to bring the game back. Especially as he only came on at half time. Hopefully a good sign for the season ahead.

Can see you lot doing well, unfortunately. Conte is a brilliant motivator, one of the best in the world, he dragged that Juventus team from 7th in the league to league title winners. Of course, it won't be easy to do this in the Premier League but I do think he's an excellent choice to take Chelsea back up there after last season.

May put Hazard in my FF team. See him having a brilliant season now he will be up for it.

Not sure I see how Conte is going to change so much. Batshuayi is promising enough and Kante should reinvigorate the midfield but a few more new faces are needed to shake up the team as it looked stagnant last season.

Not impressed by their squad so far. Their defence needs injections.

So assuming azpilicueta and Ivanovic are going to start as full backs, who will back up at LB and RB? Baba seems to have left and so has ake. Who else ?

I doubt Ivanovic gets a starting role. It seems Aina and Azpi will start if we do not buy a LB. Ivanovic and Kane will likely be backup.

Think they might sign ricardo Rodriguez

Are they playing 3 or 4 at the back?

Maybe Cuadrado could play FB, depending on setup?

Shocking if he moves.

"Today Costa is Chelsea's player. Tomorrow...I don't know." Antonio Conte has spoken.

Hazard will definitely be the best player in the League again this season. His form since his return from injury against Bournemouth has been absurd. Injuries & Mourinho destroyed his confidence but he's long since been back now. 9 goals, 8 assists in his last 16 games now. Interesting to see him play as a second striker in the last 15 minutes of the Madrid game, wonder if that'll be his position this season. Rather him out there than being forced to play as a pure winger in Conte's system.

Michy, Cuadrado, Chalobah & Aina in the 2nd half also impressed me. Michy especially looks like he'll be one hell of a player once he acclimatizes to the League. Brilliant both physically & technically.

We still desperately need a CB & another fullback before the season ends. Conte's tactics requires defenders who are adept at both passing & ball carrying none of which our defenders can do at an acceptable level (Terry's distribution is fantastic but his athleticism is almost a zero now).

Willian Hazard Costa/Batshuayi Cuadrado
Kante Cesc
FB Terry Koulibaly Azpilicueta
Courtois
Not great but not bad either. Defence is the obvious weak link.

Not really shocking. He's not settled and is very injury prone. He's also a red card waiting to happen and maybe Conte does not trust him (I'm not sure I would).

Please not Costa out and Lukaku in though.

One wants to leave and another is a childhood fan of this club and wants to play for us. It's a no-brainer. Always keep people who want to play for you.

I'm a childhood fan, want me upfront? Not saying I'd do a better job than Lukaku but maybe.

In all seriousness I'd love Lukaku to score a shitload of goals for us, I just don't see it happening.

Wont know unless he is bought. IF he stays there and scores 35, youll regret it 100%

If he scores 35 for Everton next season I'll get a Lukaku tattoo!
Oh, i dont think itll happen lol.

Think he would score a lot now for Chelsea though in a 2 man strikeforce. He has matured a lot. Ok his first touch is a bit off at times, but hes an animal on his day. Doesnt have the short temper Costa has, isnt a marked man like Costa (unfairly IMO), and i think is worth a punt. But not at 75m, and i think everton know thats a silly fee. He will slap a TR in i think

TBH I think Lukaku will suit the way you're going to play this season, 4 man defence with a 5 man defence in front of them and 1 man up top to play on the break ;)

I think he'd score around the 20 mark, but we'd also have a LOT of games where he was just fecking rubbish and squandered excellent chances and would have us pulling our hair out. He always seems like an all or nothing player.

I doubt he will ever be able to hit the 20 goal mark for Chelsea. Teams get quite compact against bigger teams like us and also there are multiple players sharing the goal scoring.

Also, its not like he is still improving or anything. He has been the same player for last 2-3 seasons.

Signing Lukaku back for 60mil would be an absolute joke.

Why aren't we pushing instead for Gabriel Barbosa?

Oscar might get sold to Italy from many reports...

Diego wanted to leave, but management didn't want it. Cesc will probably leave soon too, unless he plays as a n10 rather than a in the pivot.

Its a shitstorm if we are already down to the sales bit. Should have gotten all the buying done first or maybe we have agreements on other targets alerady.

Between Oscar, Cuadrado, Salah and Remy sales we will have raised about £75m. Teams would be more willing to fleece us for even more money.

Makes little sense signing Lukaku if Costa is staying. Unless Batshuayi isn't signed to be a first team player.

Mikel John Obi has legally changed his name after years of people getting it wrong....

Mikel was born John Michael Nchekwube Obinna in 1987, but a mistake in 2003 changed things for the midfielder.

During the registration process for the 2003 Fifa Under-17 World Championships, the Nigeria Football Association mistakenly submitted ‘Michael’ as ‘Mikel’ for the tournament in Finland. The competition ended in disappointment as Nigeria failed to qualify from their group despite Mikel scoring during a win against Australia, but the midfielder decided to keep his new name.

The Chelsea midfielder says the mistake had a “special ring to it,” and from joining Chelsea in 2006 he went by ‘Mikel John Obi.

And the midfielder has now decided to officially change his full name to Mikel John Obi.

Why would it be a joke? Is it because you sold in the first place? or you generally dont believe he is worth anything near that?

I imagine a combination of both. Beyond being slightly more of a goalscorer and a bit taller, I don't really see what he offers that Michy doesn't anyway.

Supposedly we have a bid accepted for Barbosa, but so do Juve so it's down to the player to choose. Unless it's just more media bullshit of course.

I think the powers that be, in the boardroom, never wanted to sell Lukaku. It was completely Mourinhos choice.

Those powers that be, and Conte, now want him back. And understandably they have to pay more as he has been good, to be fair. But the fee is still ridiculous

I think it's more of just Lukaku being an option just in case Costa leaves.

If they sign Lukacku for £70m then I will be 'avin a right laugh at our £100m expenditure on Pogba.

Fans are totally against him too. There are a few Chelsea accounts on twitter going by the name #Fu*kOffLukaku

Be stupid for him to come to Chelsea now. He will be up against the crowds from the beginning.
