In all fairness though they sold Djilobodji for £8m to Sunderland after a minute's football. lol.. That is insane. Chelsea are not a selling club, they're just sensible with cash now, they have over £100m extra per yr to spend on players. Dont forget Azpi cost £7m - best one on one defender in the league. Cahill cost 7m. Luiz was 40 odd in both moves and he is now a very good CB in this system. The days of Chelsea splurging on big name signings are over. That was a thing of the past. They have become almost as miserly as Arsenal and seem to now be a selling club (along with their policy of hoarding youngsters).
Instead of signing proven reinforcements to their shaky defence, they have chosen to recall Nathan Ake who wasn't even a regular first team player at Bournemouth - he was only starting to break into the team.
They have also been signing mediocre dross like Djilobodji, Miazga and Michael Hector only to not use them and send them immediately out on loan.
I would not be surprised if Matic fancies a reunion with Jose at UTD and Fabregas is the next big name to move to China for a monster payday. And before you know it, Hazard will fancy a move to Real Madrid or Barcelona. Who will they sign then?
Who is benefitting from these huge profits if it isn't reinvested into players? Is Roman paying out dividends to get back the money he invested 10 years ago?
We are fine ones to talk about wasting money and not reinforcing a side. Or whatever
Matic, Costa, Hazard and Fabregas will never ever play for Mourinho again. Bet my house on it. They had many sly digs at him after he left, pretty obvious they werent overly keen on him in the end.
They are sitting on £60m and with European football more or less guaranteed, they could in theory go sign Isco, or Vidal, or Pastore etc, but they seem to want to see what they have in the academy first. And if i was Conte id be using Musonda as after seeing him for Betis, he is going to be the business
