He took a crap team from mid table to top 4 and winning the Champions League in less than one season. He’s obviously not Klopp or Guardiola level but he can’t do much more to prove himself.

They were not crap. Lampard had them massively underperforming, that's why he was let go.

Those 2 are different level. Then its TT

Not sure about that Pep fella. If we had a half decent November and December we'd be above City right now.

You cant use hypothesis like that, because its like saying if we hadnt dropped the points we did,we'd be comfortably further ahead, too.

Tuchel, WC? Some would say yes, others no. But absolutely top level

I think they have a very good squad to compete for the league. Not even close to doing it. Closer to our level and we are crap then actual league challange. Maybe the CL win was a bit of a fluke?

Last 10 games in the PL, 4 wins, one defeat and 5 draws. That's bad by a very good let alone WC manager standard.

Never a fluke. The best team in England by a country mile we played, and outdone them. Along with both Madrid's who arguably weren't their best. And conceded 4 goals the entire tournament, a record

TT has signed one player for a fee, who is underperforming, - got to a CL final won, a league cup final yet to be played, and fa cup final and lost, won the poxy CWC, and won the "meh" super cup. That's all within 13 months. Pretty good

agreed. he’s overrated. he’s only top of the league because he’s got more points than all the other teams. anyone in the same position would also be top.

You won the CL under another manager. Where is he now? Credit to TT for the CL win of course, but cup competitions can be a fluke at times if not backed up by consistency. And Pep messed up the final imo.

irrelevant. Pep lost the final. He was outsmarted by Tuchel. Can make all the excuses available, he lost. Di Matteo was sacked for underperforming, but hes not even close to TT is he?

He's got to the final of every single competition he has entered with us... and is also 3rd in the prem. He's done a stellar job so far.

You weren't expecting to challenge this year? I though you'd be 2ed favorite rather then no chance at all and more at race for top 4 with an awful Man Utd and Arsenal. The football is dire too.

We got absolutely destroyed by COVID and injuries in October and December. The PL making us play against Wolves when we had players testing positive the morning of the match was farcical, especially when viewed in light of the likes of Arsenal getting matches postponed for a single positive case.

We played the most matches of any PL team in December with one of the thinnest squads - none of this is on Tuchel.

Ah. The whole CL win was a fluke narrative. We meet again.

I'm just saying you are not competing and are playing some poor football. Doesn't match with the WC progressive manager narrative either.

It’s a tough one. What do you see happening?

It’s been a disaster really

The fact the Tuchel will not drop him because of his transfer fee means we play with 10 men the rest of this year. I hope Tuchel benches him for our upcoming Cup game against Liverpool, it is our only chance to win. I cant see us getting rid of him, more pain next year.

I've seen many teams have fortunate cup runs and victories over the years but Chelsea's success in the CL last year was anything but.

Their success under Ambro is mad though. Even in indifferent campaigns they ,more often than not, come away with something.

we arent in a top 4 race, we will finish 3rd. 2nd if liverpool capitulate which wont happen. Simply because i think we are the best of the rest.

And Tuchel may not be world class, but he is better than the other managers in the league apart from the obvious 2, and i think youd swap him for Ralf in a heartbeat

Not me being bias, i just believe he is the 3rd best,.

Which team hasn’t suffered from covid absences?

Yeah it's been the same every where he's been. Any manager would have achieved the same in his position.

Sevilla, Porto, At. Madrid, Real Madrid, Man City all on route to win it. Conceded 4 goals entire tournament. But absolute fluke apparently....

His wages are going to be a huge issue for you. Inter ain’t paying him what you are and I can’t see who will?

Well if he loves Inter so damn much, and it isn't working out at Chelsea, he's going to have to make sacrifices.

The problem is even if Lukaku was willing to take less under a new contract, I cant see Marina taking a huge loss after one season.

Surely you can appreciate that having an outbreak during the busiest part of the season that coincides with injury absences is more problematic? And that that is not down to anything that Tuchel has done wrong?

Exactly, we were playing twice a week when other teams had whole weeks off.

There's been a fair number of draws, but we've had worse runs than 2 defeats in 31 games.

Which is why I said least impressive obviously. I don’t see the problem in saying that.

But that's ridiculous. We were far less impressive in 2012. Again, we conceded 4 goals in the entirety of the competition - if it were so easy to play shite football and do that then surely some team from Italy would have managed it?

With how unpredictable and how poor the football you play is, I would not be so sure of top 4. RR is here for 10 weeks or so, I really can't tell much; I'll see more as the hard games come. You have the second best squad IMO; should have been competing 100% but you are not.

That boat has sailed I'm afraid. No-one is going to pay us close to what we paid, so we either persists with something that isn't working or we cut our losses as quickly as we can.

You don’t score enough goals.

A huge part of this comes down to injury luck though. Liverpool got destroyed last year but no one thought Klopp was a shit manager - basically every important player at Chelsea this season has missed at least a 2-3 week stretch this season. That hasn't been the case at Liverpool or City.

You can’t sell him if no one is buying though. And as I say shifting him on those wages is going to be near impossible I feel.

Whether the football we played was good or not is subjective. If someone thinks we played awful football then cool so be it. Who cares really. What can't be denied is the fact that we were better than every opponent we faced during that run.
