Chelsea under Conte | Let's sign the next Hazard, literally.

Three of our 6 best players didn't start today. We'll be fine once he integrates Batshuayi & Cesc into the side.
 
Already wrote it in the match day thread, Conte will have to figure out a decent offensive plan for their game.

Today they were busy whipping in one badly aimed cross after another. Hazard tried to initiate quick combinations throughout, but as soon as he had found a free teammate near Watford's box, the inevitable cross was coming.

They have the offensive players for a more variable game and I guess they will get it together eventually, but this was disappointing. Every manager needs some time to imply his style, so I hope Conte will be able to get more entertaining (and effective) performances out of his squad in the next months.
 
2 games 2 wins. Playing not great ? They'll take that every week and they'll get better. They'll spend more too by deadline. I like Conte especially what he did at juventus
 
Today worried me a bit. After that dismal first half it was crying out for Cesc, and although it worked out in the end, not bringing him on until 15 minutes from the end felt like stubbornness. Kante was really vital again, and Hazard is still looking sharp, but I'd hope Conte would see things not working and change up faster in future.

Victor Moses is looking excellent though, his time on loan appears to have done him a world of good.
 
Have a feeling that they'll get many more results of this type under conte. He's such a passionate manager that inspires late goals, I hate to say it, but like SAF
 
Matic hasn't been good since beginning of 2015. Conte should just replace Matic with Cesc and just cycle Kante and Matic and somehow sell Mikel.

The first game, they looked fantastic. Today, they looked very subpar and was very lucky to get 3 points.
 
Their attempts to strengthen their defense is fast turning into a failure. Attempts to sign Manolas, Koulibaly and Romnglli haven't been successful. And they simply can't allow the window to close with Their defense as it is.
My bet is someone will fleece them before the season closes.

Who is depreciating in value? We've made profits on all of the young players we signed, loaned then sold (Lukaku, De Bruyne and others) and we also get loan fees for those still under contract at the club.
 
Yeah, there's certainly criticisms to be made about the system, but profitability really isn't one of them.

I was watching the Watford game the other day and it didn't look like you guys were playing a 4-1-4-1 like WhoScored had it reported. Hazard was roaming around completely free, primarily from a number 10/second striker position with Pedro and Oscar acting as primary wingers. It looked more like a 4-4-1-1 with Kante and Matic as the central midfielders. Has that been the way you play the other games too?

I feel like you are reading the stat wrong, or at least, being wilfully ignorant. 11% of football league clubs having a player on loan from Chelsea makes it sound worse than it is. There are 72 clubs in the football league, 11% of that is 8 clubs. So, Chelsea have 8 players on loan in the football league. I realise that doesn't account for the loans to foreign clubs (Vitesse?), and therefore doesn't really give a full picture of Chelsea's eye-watering loan policy, but the stat itself is misleading.

I mean, if Andreas Perreira goes on loan to Middlesborough, 10% of all Premier League clubs (2) will have a player on loan from Manchester United. Makes it sound terrible.
 
Conte is going to be an utter bastard to play against this season, I can see it now. I really like the look of batashuyai and with hazard and costa coming back into form; its only good news and if they can get a CB in, they'll be in amongst the race. Lets not forget Zouma will be coming back and if he can get fit, whilst they continue to win, it will be like a new signing. They look to have that steely, can grind out a result against anyone - vibe and teams will be wondering what happened after being beat. Not looking forward to playing them tbh!

Very happy with Kante and Batshuayi. We need bodies in defense though and if we don't sign anyone else, I'd be amazed.

Same as Duffer. I know we're working hard to get a couple of defenders in, and I'd be pretty shocked if we didn't. We're dangerously light, and with our best youngsters being out on loan (and in some cases loans we can't cancel) I don't believe we'd take the risk. Although that said, Zouma is supposed to be very close to returning and Aina's injury is a small one, so its not quite as bad as it seems.

If we dont get a CB we will likely miss out on top 4. Getting a CB should have been the first thing to be done this summer.

Complete numpties our transer ppl. Fecked Jose last summer and this summer fecking it up for Conte.

That said, If we do get a CB then this would have been a good window. Kante will likely be world class in his position and Batshuayi seems to be taking well to the PL.

There's still plenty of time to sign players. We signed Fernando Torres & David Luiz on deadline day a couple of years ago.

Happy the club is chasing after top quality this summer.

:lol::lol::lol::lol: This is a Top 4 calibre team with the additions of Batshuayi & Kante. Hazard & Costa will also likely be among the best in the positions this season unlike last year.
