Something to be said for a side that will fight with their manager. Dark horses for the title in my book.
I don't know who tried it before, but this time it's an Italian top manager. Chelsea already resembled Conte's Italy quite a bit today, with their mix of discipline, aggressive pressing and quick counters.A lot is being made about this formation change. Given that three-at-the-back hasn't ever really worked at the top in the Premier League (from my memory at least), it'll be interesting to see how long it works for Conte.
What did he say?Glad Mourinho called out Conte at the end too. Small time club through and through.

Yeah, you sound thoroughly confused. But as I say, that's going by my generally shocking memory![]()
Oh, I wouldn't think that was calling him out. There's no basis to do that having just lost 4-0 fair and square. He had words with him at the end. Wouldn't say what he said to him bit wasn't complimentary.

What does that mean? I just want to understand what he would even say given the context. He pulled him up on it.

Azpi's the best defender in the League. Luiz is highly important for our build up. If anyone's going to be left out it's Cahill but he's played well in recent weeks to be fair to him.Thought Azpilicuta did well as a centre back. Be interesting to see if Terry and Zouma can get back into the side.
He whined like a sore, petty, whinging loser that he is in these situations. Feel free to find the innumerable occasions Jose's done much worse when his side are winning.
Conte felt the atmosphere dull a bit, as it does in the final minutes of a game like this only to rise at the end. It was nothing to do with Jose but he had to make it about him(unverified translation, I might add)
I would probably agree with this. I also think playing just once a week will be key if we're still in the race come squeaky bum time. They are through their rough patch.
Will challenge for the title but really arent that good. Citeh are better player for player.
About you being absolutely clueless. What on earth are you on about.

The Arsenal battering was a blessing in disguise & Conte luckily stumbled upon this new formation.

I'd imagine Cahill would be the one looking over his shoulder as he's slower than Azpi, Zouma, and Luiz. He's also probably only better defensively than Luiz as well.Thought Azpilicuta did well as a centre back. Be interesting to see if Terry and Zouma can get back into the side.

Oh no doubt he's tactically astute & knows the formation well. I just doubt he'd envisioned playing Azpi at CB or Moses at RWB before the season started. He played it at Juve and Italy, wouldn't say he stumbled on it. He would have used it but he felt the players wouldn't be used to it but circumstances meant it was probably the better option and so he's using it now.

The switch to 3-4-3 has been glorious though. Moses has been a complete revelation in that position. Like you said, he's not normally exceptional but at RWB his strengths are amplified & his weaknesses are no longer a hindrance to his team. Same with Alonso who was written off before he even kicked a ball, his lack of pace was considered a huge weakness but teams haven't been able to exploit it yet. Cahill & Matic have covered him well.
Kante is Kante & is proving he's definitely not a DM but I have to give him huge credit for Matic. Still cautious about him after watching his performances over the last 18 months but it seems Conte has played him back into form. He actually resembles a footballer again. David Luiz behind him certainly helps with his lackluster build-up play but his rejuvenation was a nice surprise.
He finally has his spine now. Ultimately, the team will only go as far Hazard takes them. He's been one of the best players in the League along with Coutinho & Sanchez but he still has another level in him. We can compete for the title despite being inferior talent wise to Arsenal & City if he reaches it.
I think this guy is a great manager. His best quality is to create a proper team spirit. His teams are full with energy and enthusiasm and ready to fight tooth and nail. He made a relatively unimpressive Italy side peform brilliantly in the Euros. They were without five (!) top midfielders vs Germany--Verratti, Montolivo, Marchisio, De Rossi and Motta--and nevertheless gave them quite a game. Conte's enthusiasm inspires his players big time.
I think he's doing even better than I expected back in August.
No way are Herrera and Pogba doing a comparable defensive job to Matic and Kante's.Herrera and Pogba would be perfect in that midfield setup!
Highly doubt it. Bunch of media B.S.http://www.livesoccertv.com/news/22280/reports-from-italy-link-antonio-conte-with-shock-chelsea-exit/"
According to their report, Conte has already agreed to a deal with the Nerrazzuri – worth £12.75m-per-year. The duration of that contract will be four years, and it will see the Chelsea boss replace current manager Stafano Pioli.
When Conte took over I said that he was Mourinho on steroids. In that I ment that they share some of the same beliefs and basic priciples, but that Conte is alot better at getting the most out of his players. I still feel this is the case.
Several of our players have been poor compared to last year (Martial, Rashford, Blind and Smalling). I also feel that Shaw proved more in five games last season than so far this season. On the other hand, some players have been better, for instance Mata, Valencia and Herrera. I actually believe a manager like Conte would get the best out of all of our players. Herrera and Pogba would be perfect in that midfield setup!
Sounds like speculative nonsense to me... I hopehttp://www.livesoccertv.com/news/22280/reports-from-italy-link-antonio-conte-with-shock-chelsea-exit/"
