Chelsea vs. Manchester United

feck that tbh. How is the leagues top scorer on the bench?

Because we dont have anyone to play left cept Rooney. So it was a case of a choice between Berba and Hernandez, in which case, the latter's pace can be critical in this game.

Or would you rather play Obertan on the left against Chelsea at SB ? :shudder: Harsh on the lad but he hasnt done anything to prove otherwise.

Is the City game not bigger? Losing to City at home would have been worse than losing to Chelsea tonight.

Very true, losing to City would have certainly hurt alot more however in proportion to the importance of this match right now and the league title race, this is surely the biggest acid test for Smalling.

I think he'll do well though. An amazing signing.

It'll be 4-5-1/4-3-3 rather then 4-4-2.

Happy to see Hernandez start. Need to get him in a foot race against Terry.

I can see where Fergie is coming from.

Berbatov has only played well once against Chelsea while with us and this was at OT where we dominated Chelsea.

Fergie is opting for pace and strength against Chelsea's 'big men'. Berbatov does not offer either of these.

Berbatov is effective dropping off and creating. Chelsea's midfield is too strong and mobile for Berbatov's role IMO and Fergie's opinion.

I'd say that's a fair assesment but watch this place go ballistic about Berbatov on the bench if we lose.

Anyone else feeling confident about tonights game? After seeing the line up I think we'll do it

Hernandez should cause the Chelsea defence all sorts of trouble (again.)

Come on United.

Chicha always gives me the impression that he doesnt give a feck who he's playing against, just does his thing. Exactly what we need tonight.

Since liverpool have already won there, so can we.

Come on United!!!!

Ray Wilkins just said Drogba has a phenominal record against United :wenger:

You could say it would have been equally harsh on Hernandez to drop him for Berbatov.

Yeah, I think that's it really. Whatever the reason for giving Berbatov the week off, Fergie's got to stick with a striker who just scored two goals in our last league game and has more away goals this season than Rooney and Berbatov combined.

Berbatov will understand. Seems like a really humble and reasonable bloke.

Not been nervous all day, but it's just struck.

C'monnnnnn.

Hernandez starting is a surprise, but not as big a surprise as Fergie fielding an unchanged line up.

I think it plays into our hands that a draw isn't good enough for Chelsea.

It won't exactly be a good result for us to because Arsenal can close the gap. A win today really takes the pressure of us for the game against Pool and a draw there would be good enough.

Jesus cnuting Christ. How can shreeves ask "How is Ashley Cole mentally", fecking do me a favour Sky.
