Chelsea vs Manchester United

^^^ ummm, he's a Spurs fan.

If only he gave out some kind of clue...

For the first time in ages the team picks itself IMO:

De Gea
Smalling Ferdinand Evans Evra
Carrick Giggs
Valencia Rooney Nani
Welbeck

Because you're still only 5 points ahead of us. While I never believed that we could win the league, unless we emerged out of March within 5 points of top, I see no problems with continuing to look up as well as down. At least until it is mathematically impossible to look up. A draw, especially if we manage to get a win at Anfield, means we maintain a very healthy lead over Chelsea and stay close/move closer to you.

Any chance that this match might get cancelled like last year. Already some of the Championship matches have been cancelled.

Any idea what the surrounding roads / paths are like? I doubt it would be called off due to the pitch.

Hernandez taunts Torres
Reds striker confident Spaniard will not net in Sunday's clash

Javier Hernandez has said Fernando Torres' nightmare form in front of goal will continue when Manchester United travel to Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

The out-of-form forward has not managed a goal since September and failed to muster a single shot against Swansea in midweek.

Torres, who broke the British transfer record with his £50million move from Liverpool 12 months ago, has gone 19 matches without a goal for club and country and Hernandez warns this is set to continue.

"Fernando Torres is one of the best forwards in Europe, without doubt," Hernandez told the Daily Star.

"But he suffers a bad record in front of goal and I predict that the Spaniard will not score against United this Sunday either."

Hernandez took just 36 seconds to net against Chelsea when the teams met in the title decider at Old Trafford in May and says the game on Sunday is just as important.

"Every little slip will have an effect on the title race at the moment so this match against Chelsea is very important," he added.

"Winning in London is vital. Chelsea are always dangerous and they will raise their game."

The title race took another turn in midweek as United moved level on points with Manchester City and Hernandez says his team have the mental edge over Roberto Mancini's side.

"The one thing now is that we can focus totally on the league and that is what we want to win," he added.

"The manager is very serious about us winning the title and considers it to be a mental question because every week is a big race, and he knows that this club have shown the right character in the past to win."

The 'quote' about he's certain the Spaniard will not score, well that just doesn't sound like Javier at all. I doubt he said that line exactly the way it's wrote.

Apparently it's going to snow in London tonight. Will it be called off if there are 5 cm of snow?

Just like last season? When Chelsea are in shite form?

A brief statement on the club’s website read: ‘There has been heavy snow in London on Saturday.’

Why is snow such a big problem in England? I can't understand that.

yeah but the conditions at the ground mean jack shit , if the road condition's are bad and they were last year the game is rightly called off.

Also heavy snow is not that common in the UK and when it hits everything comes to a halt.
Places that have heavy snow all the time are OK , there governments and businesses buy equipment that is used all the time.
They will not do that here , they are not going to spend tens of thousands of pounds on equipment that might be used.
How ever wrong that is it will never change.

But it wasn't heavy, was it?

Look at the picture. That's the reason why it was called off. Heavy snow on the streets.

Because it's only in the last 2-3 years that London has seen such relatively heavy snow. The last two years have been especially bad and London's not set up to deal with it at all.

just because there was no snow round the ground does not mean there was no snow elsewhere , just do a search for that day and you will see , roads airports transport were a mess.

We dont cope well with snow in the UK and the n the heath and safety idiots take over , not like it used to be.
I have been to matches at OT when half the pitch was still frozen , one that come to mind is Peterborough in the FA.

But even with the H&S you have to think about driving conditions , having an accident going to a football match is just not worth it to be honest.

It doesn't need to be, if you only have one inch of snow and ice but no means with which to clear it then you might as well have one foot of it.

It is the same case at Heathrow - 70 million passengers a year, more international travellers than any other airport in the world yet when it is foggy, icy or snowing the airport comes to a standstill as they don't have the infrastructure to deal with it. They should, but they don't.

The Channel Tunnel is the same, I recall before Christmas in 2010 it was virtually shutdown because trains couldn't cope with the divergence in conditions between the tunnel and outside or something like that.

Last season we were crippled by a virus at the time the fixture was called off, and it wasn't Chelsea's decision. Their shite form had nothing to do with it.

Current reports are that it will start snowing in Greater London during the evening and go through to the morning.

It has been snowly heavily in the west country for a few hours now.

fecks same I came down for this last season before the cancellation and again this year. Would really piss me off of Chelsea did another TC (tactical cancellation).

What authority do you think Chelsea have over the metropolitan police.

I think it will be cancelled, Transport for London like to reduce tube operations on Sundays and the amount of times the stadium announcers have said with twenty minutes to go 'Fulham Broadway has been closed, please walk to Earl's Court' is numerous indeed.

They'll want to close that branch of the district line no doubt.

Heathrow is reportedly cutting back on the flights it receives from this evening until Monday.

How many years has it been snowing in England? Has the government been starting to catch on? Just hire planners from Norway or Iceland or Canada or something if you don't know how. They'd make the most out of your budget and man power.

I'd say it's more down to the fact it only happens for a few days of the year than know how. Not worth investing in everything that would be needed to keep the country running smoothly.

Judging by internet weather forecast sites I'd say whatever little snow there is in the morning it'll be gone by noon or early afternoon. It's not that cold and apparently it won't snow heavily.

It is erratic, especially in the cities which can go many years without any significant snowfall.

Before this year we had our worst three year block of winters for many decades, after last year there was a concerted effort this year to increase on preparations. However we remain a relatively mild country, we have had a mild December, a very mild January and just a couple of days as it is now.

Before that three year block I speak of, Britain had the two warmest winters in its recorded history going back 350 years.

The snow has come, ground is whitening, if I was a betting man I'd say this game will be called off.
