It wasn't OFF last year because of the stadium or pitch situation, it was off because of 'risk for people's health on the way and around the stadium' - ice patches, uncleared snow on streets and sidewalks.
England = 3rd world countryDon´t you pussies ever go to Scandanavia in the winter. You´ll probably die from shock before freezing to death.
Yes, but we've heard nothing else for the last week but about this snow storm. I've seen plenty of gritters out all week, when it was cold but dry. Now, when it's really needed, nothing...

Central line part closure, part suspended. District could be next.
Why are we cursed with snow when we play Chelsea.
Boris dropped the ball definitively in Clapham last year after the riots. Rarely has a politician looked so hopelessly out of touch. It is a case of the London boroughs having good PR teams but who cannot deliver on what they say.
We are only 90 days away from mayoral elections in London, it isn't the time to go dropping the ball.

It's only twice now and we don't know it's called off yet *fingers crossed*
Would ruin tomorrow afternoon though.

You don't know what to believe with Boris in charge. I mean...Unless it's the mayor's fault. The Tory mayor, that would be. Lazy cnut.

Doesn't Stamford Bridge have undersoil heating? Why don't they cover up the pitch when they know it's going to snow? Material doesn't cost much and it takes a few minutes to do so.

It was in Clapham where he addressed the crowds who turned up with their brooms, that was warmly received.
Ken Livingstone on the other hand dropped a clanger by trying to tie the riots to spending cuts.
What material do you propose? I'd hazard a guess that 6.9sq kilometres of material thick enough to protect a pitch from snow would weigh a huge amount and take up a huge space and be totally impractical. Then imagine the work you'd have to do to clear the snow off the material.... and then remove and store the material itself... it's a total no go.

Many stadiums in Iceland have one. How do you think we play international games in the winter time.
You clear the snow with manpower. That's what pitch staff members are for. Then you role it off.
What kind of material? You can use similar material that boats use to cover cargo. You know the thick rubbery kind. Kind of like a sail.
I guess you reckon a car can't drive on water either?
edit: I just noticed your number there. How did you come up up with that one? I'm only talking about the grass here.

The pitch is 103m by 67m, meaning the total area of the pitch is 6901sqm.
LBC's eye witness reports are hilarious. Something like 300 people are waiting at a bus stop near the O2 because of the Jubilee being suspended due to snow. Some even waiting for two hours.
