Chelsea vs. Manchester United

I think we have to see the positives here. Mercenary Plastics FC played their big players whilst we really showed some squad depth and above all, some real character in our homegrowns and youngsters.

Cracking game. Really enjoyed that. Well done lads. And yes...Chelsea are now completely feckin knackered for this weekend :)

Some of you may be happy with that, but I'm not.

Don't care if we played a young inexperienced team, we should have held on there.

The youngsters probably got more experience from this one game than playing three ties against league 1 and 2 teams.

When is Terry back? Is it on Saturday, if not hope Swansea give Luiz and Cahill loads of trouble. Will they play Mata? He is the main man for them and has had another tough game.

I honestly thought we'd lose by about four tonight, given the differing teams & the fact that they'd be well up for it. Great job by our boys.

Let talk about the positives now:

1- Chelsea played more players from their first team than us. They'll be more tired than us come Saturday.
2- We are out of a useless tournament. We can concentrate on fewer competitions now.

Anybody?
Only rafael played from saturday night. They had cech, luiz, mata and mikel starting with hazard, ramires and oscar coming on. You can't criticise our team.

Proofs that this cup is a stupid one:

1- What kind of competition is it where the games end 7-5 and 5-4. What are we in the fifties?
2- Birmingham won it two years ago.

Anybody?

Brilliant game of football, a real effort from us and Chelski's first-teamers had to put a real shift in to win.

Shame the lads at the back tired so dramatically. You often find that young players fall off a cliff in terms of fitness once they tire and that was evident today.

Chelski will get their vindication which will hopefully ease tensions from Sunday and a whole bunch of knackered players to take to Swansea on the weekend! Very, very odd decision to go as strong as they did and keep their best player on for the duration...

Oh well, we've got one player in rafael who played against them on sunday, how many have they got, clearly have had their 3 best players for most the game against 2 very young defenders. They scored 5 against them, we scored 4 against their much more established defence.

Think on the whole most the players have done well. With a more established partner and a defensive shield ahead I think either would do alright, so hope they don't get criticised too much.

I thought Fletcher played well, on the ball his passing was really crisp and he rarely gave away the ball. Ando was great for most the game, tired later on but that was understandable. He and Nani linked up superbly at times and I thought Nani was very positive, if he could have tracked better. His goal was superb and for me he is the only player we have who could do that. Rafael was good too, though think he got a bit gung-ho, but some important challenges.

Giggs was great for me and his energy was scary. He gave the ball away a few times and went for some tougher passes but on the whole he played the ball well and he made some great challenges to keep us in it.

Not sure what Tunniclife was doing though. I thought he'd come on as the shield but he seemed to play quite advanced, not sure about him personally. Powell had some decent moments but I think the pace of the game caught him out a little.

3 Liverpool are the record COC holders

4 It's called the COC cup

Why not?

Yes, it's an irritating defeat, but that's sport.
Look at how they performed over the entire game, and what Chelsea felt they needed to throw at this team of ours.

Incredibly proud of the team. Chelsea bring on 70m worth of talent, we bring on 3 kids.

Magnificent from the team and the fans tonight.DiMatteo showing his experience playing his first teamers in what is only the League Cup, they should be fecked on Saturday.Wooton will learn from his mistakes and whilst it's never nice to lose we can take pride in the red shirts tonight.

Them having to bring Hazard and Oscar on says a lot. That is extra playing time they didn't need.

I'm not happy. We did great, some great displays, but we lost. And what makes me fuming were young players not fighting more. Tunni on Ramires goal was just waving his arm and standing while the guy had all the time in the world to dribble Anders, who seemed like he couldn't give more of a feck.

Won't get started on Wooton, had a nightmare today. Will be hard to bounce back for a kid like him. Hopefully he will.

Overall we did good, Anderson was a beast, Rafael and Chicha were both brilliant, Fletcher was bossing cm, but we could and should've done better.

Shall we look at it another way?

Yeah, we made 10 changes, but we still had Hernandez, Welbeck, Anderson, Nani, Rafael, Fletcher and Giggs on the pitch. Not exactly reserve team players really are they?

Likewise. We threw away a certain victory due to complete idiocy.
