Chelsea vs. Manchester United

Good team!! I have a funny feeling that Valencia and Nani are gonna play very well today.

That is a very funny feeling! But seriously I am worried that my comments in the Nani thread are going to jinx me today :nervous:

Looks a strong side to me.

Welbeck and Hernandez is still a good forward pairing. Would have preferred RVP starting but there you go. Fergie reckoned Hernandez was knackered from the travel so could not make Saturday.

Its a strong side but no where near our best. RVP,Rooney,Vidic are three huge players for us and none are starting.

Nani, Welbeck and Hernandez.. that's enough pace and movement to create trouble on the counter.

Don't know why anyone's surprised. FSW hates Utd and Fergie especially, he basically gave up against Southampton to field a full strength side in the Cup.

Absolute disgrace and disrespect to the fans who travelled to Southampton

Benitez did that for selfish reasons. Interim managers will want to look after their own CV's. Just hope it backfires, and they don't qualify for Europe.

You did say it was done last year, and you also said Villa would finish ahead of Arsenal as you couldn't see Arsenal catch them being 9 points behind. You love this "it's done" talk and you have more often than not been wrong.

Ehm, if Fergie thought the league was done, would he have played a strong side against Sunderland and rest RvP and Vidic for this one? No chance.

 Yeah, remind me of a Villa situation six years ago to prove a point. And I wonder how many times you're going to remind me of last year when pretty much everyone thought we'd have been able to do it (not to mention it was an infinitely toughed situation than this year because we only really needed to lose 1 and draw 1 to allow City to pass us with a win over us).

As I said, it's daft to think we could drop 15+ points in 8 games. It'd be embarrassing for Wigan at this stage of season to lose 5 or 6 out of 8 games.

And you're unbelievably annoying with this tendency to quote half of my posts and remind me that I also thought the same last year (like most did) and some post from 6 years ago I don't even remember.

I'm willing to bet £1k with you that we'll win the league this year at 1/100 odds.

Chelsea interim manager Rafael Benitez on ITV1: "How many times have Chelsea played two games in 48 hours? Not many. So we have to manage the squad and use different players. I really hope to finish in the top four [of the Premier League] but we will approach every competition trying to win."

Like Saturday for instance?

Team: Cech, Azpilicueta, Ivanovic, David Luiz, Cole; Mikel, Ramires, Hazard, Mata, Oscar, Ba

Subs: Turnbull, Terry, Bertrand, Lampard, Benayoun, Moses, Torres

Well they are going full strength. Ivanovic and Luiz give me confidence in their defence though.

Have a bench full of potentially game changing players too. Have a feeling this will be a classic.

You want Jones at CB over Smalling who's not good as a RB and the better CB? Ok.

Smalling is probably better defensively at both RB and CB than Jones right now.

Jones is like Buttner at RB. Good going forward, but questionable defensively especially positionally. And their main threat comes from out wide.

I hope we kick seven bells of shit out of them.

So why did you say "it's over" last year when it wasn't?
It'll be over if they lose today.

I would love to know that. It's over means it's over and we didn't won the title last year. You were the same last year when people said it wasn't over.

Or will you start with like "there's no way city will win their last 6 games so we can drop 10 points and still win the league" And it's very annoying with your "it's done" "it's over" posts and also making fun of people saying it's not done.

Why bet? I think we will win the league without doubt, but it's not over.

Twat face asks why players don't complain at United if left out, and of course, the guy who never played for United answers that question. Not the former captain.

Need a big game from our wingers today, I feel without the attacking threat of either RvP or Rooney we cant afford for them to be out of form like they have been for the majority of the season.

No, I wasn't. Yes I felt we wouldn't bottle it last year and felt we'd win but I don't recall telling people that we can't lose it because obviously it was possible.

Most people thought City have lost it when they lost to Arsenal, their manager included.

And you really don't see a difference between being 8 points ahead with an away game to your rivals still to come and 15 points ahead with a home game against them?

Besides, the fact that I was wrong last year doesn't mean you have to come and remind me every single time I say something. I swear you're going to remind me of this when I say we're going to beat Norwich when we are 7-0 ahead heading into stoppage time. Or when we are 15 points ahead with 6 games left.

Dunno but a sudden wave of negativity has come over me. I was buoyant before. cnuts fecking put on the first leg leading up to it and the shithouse performance in the last 10 minutes has dampened my spirits.

But you never thought, you were sure that we would win it.
There's a huge difference, so big difference that it will take a miracle, but I don't see the need to say it's done when it's not done. I didn't even gave up us winning the league in 2005/06 when we were 9 points behind Chelsea with three games left to play.

I know its bad...but I just can't see us winning this. Chelsea's last chance of a cup...and all that...

Never expected this formation!

Because you think it's not over. Surely 100/1 have to be tempting? I can give you £2k at 1/200 even.
