David De Gea vs Wojciech Szczęsny

De Gea done a similiar thing on his debut against Real Zaragoza, and followed up by saving the penalty.

erm.. a clear shot? With 2 defenders in the middle, with Djourou (I think) in-between Lennon and the goal.

God you'd argue to the death when caught red handed wouldn't you?

I think most keepers would have come out. It's besides the point though - you've just come out as a Unitedaredabest poster in this thread. I'll add you to the list. You're the type of person who rates Gibson over Wilshere.

Against most normal players Chesney would've got there...Lennon is super quick though which he failed to take into consideration.

It was still a mistake, but you would expect a young keeper to make rash decisions like that.

Agree with all of that, but to say it wasn't a mistake is blind madness :wenger:

And to say "if he didn't do that he would've just let Lennon have a free shot at goal" is also silly.

Weird, weird comment.

My argument has never been based on talent, I'm not saying De Gea is more talented than your boy, just much more experienced starring at the top level.

You're arguing that your boy has NEVER made an error, I've shown you 2 that nearly all the media and pundits believe were errors, you disagree?

So who's the biased one al? ha ha.

Check out the Sneijder thread where I rate Wilshere as the best midfielder to play against Barca last year.

Take of your rose glasses and look at my argument for what is it.

It should be thou shouldn't it? I mean, the thread's about who is/will be the better keeper no?

How else are you going to judge it? And if you can't judge it, why are you posting so much?

Because my whole point is that we can't fecking judge Szczęsny's talent after 16 fecking games, yet after 2 VERY successful seasons we can better judge De Gea's.

You Arsenal lads are a little slow aren't you?

Not slow at all no. You seem to be doing your best to judge him after 16 games, you're posting video's etc.

Your point seems to be '...our keeper is good, all young keepers make mistakes, look at his trophies.......your keeper is shit, look at his mistakes, he has no trophies.....'

You're the one who looks a little slow tbh, that or 12 years old

very slow indeed.

Where have I judged him? I actually think he'll go on to be a cracking keeper. I'm now awaiting you to quote where I have judged him and back up your shite post.

The videos were to show alastair how fecking rose tinted he was when it came to talking about his beloved keeper, nothing more.

Your point seems to be '...our keeper is good, all young keepers make mistakes, look at his trophies.......your keeper is shit, look at his mistakes, he has no trophies.....'

OMFG, must I say it again? then you really are that slow!

My point is, De Gea has 2 fecking years starring at the top level and winning trophies. Szczęsny has 16 games. THAT'S THE POINT

Just to make the point again, not once have I claimed that Szczęsny is shit, not once have I even claimed that he isn't good.

You're the one who looks a little slow tbh, that or 12 years old

Really

You're not suggesting that rating De Gea over Szczesny is the same thing as rating Gibson over Wilshere, are you?

Well he's just saying he's not faultless and he has made mistakes.

This comparison is silly, De Gea looked class in Spain and noone knows how he'll cope in England and Chesney has had a good start to his career but he's not proven enough to be judged properly yet.

I've said since I first saw Chesny against us last year that he looked a real prospect, and I think both will turn out to be top of the line-goalies.

Hope De Gea turns out to be the best, but my prediction is that there will be very little between them as they will both be in the upper echelon within a few years.

When I first saw him, I didn't think Wojciech Szczęsny was that good, but I have to admit I've been more impressed with his presence in each game.

Was very good yesterday against Udiense.

Arsenal may have at last found their #1.

When you first saw him he made his league debut v us and performed minor miracles, no?

I think he's looked annoyingly good. And I still don't get the criticism about his distribution either, it seems fine.

His distribution from throws was particularly good last night, it was quick, accurate and very effective.

I think the distribution criticism stems from how he performed on his debut against United when it seemed he could scarcely kick the ball to the half way line. Every other part to his game was on the money except that element on that evening. It appears he's worked on it massively, because there hasn't been a problem since.

It's his self-confidence which catches the eye, just has the aura of a big keeper, a belief that he belongs at this level.

Seems like a wanker. Will probably be a good keeper though.

Wenger saved himself £18m. Currently he's more suited to the EPL Than DeGea due to his superior physicality.

I get the impression this thread will be raging on in five years time when they've both been outstanding for ages. It'll be the Messi v Ronaldo of goalkeepers.

Scszesny seems like a bit of an arsehole though, we'll probably just all side with De Gea regardless.

Szczesny has had the benefit of playing a season in the PL with very little expectation and pressure. It gives him a big advantage developing himself. I'm sure DDG will walk the same road when he eventually rid himself the initial pressure of being a Manchester United keeper.

Arsenal have been a bit short on twats recently though. Apparently Szczesny told a linesman not to bother checking his nets because no-one was ever going to score past him. Legend.

 Fabregas, Bendtner, Wilshere, Adebayor, Van Persie...

Your twat ratio has still been very high, not as high as in the Keown, Vieira, Henry, Lehmann days, but then that was exceptional.

Fabregas is a nice bloke who enjoys pizza. Bendtner is mis-understood. Wilshere's a top bloke who takes pictures with his fans and stuff. Adebayor is a twat, and Van Persie seems friendly too. Don't really understand why Henry is a twat either to be honest. I get the other three.

That penalty save yesterday was one of the best I've ever seen.

What is it with you and your constant absurd hyperbole?

The ball was at a good height to be saved. It was near the post and firmly struck though, so it was a very good save. Doesn't deserve to be mentioned as one of the best ever though.
