Apologies, that's not what I meant. I meant new as in 'not played for Moyes' before.Yeah his scouting network uncovered the unpolished gems that were Ronaldo, Bale and Fabregas.

I know how he feels. When I go a few years to far in FM it's filled with regens and you just can't trust them. You go with what you know.
It's unfortunate for Sunderland that what he knows are players who are uninspiring and most of them winding down their careers. I think it shows Moyes' lack of interest and passion for the game, he doesn't seem to have added anything to his management. His knowledge on the transfer market consists of what he had, just looks out of touch and disinterested.
I think it's simply because Sunderland has not a lot of money (players are leaving them for better pay) so they can't buy players tempting them with wages. It's also not London or something to be tempted by the location. Then the only remaining option is buy players who will come for the manager. Which is probably what's been happening.
1967 > 1968 was it ?
Perhaps I'm wrong - maybe it was different year or maybe it wasn't Charlie Hurley....
I just remember going to the match as a youngish teenager and struggling to hold back the tears as we filed out of OT after the match.
He wanted Baines as well.
Reading on GOT, that's the same reputation he seems to have. Can't stay off the ale. Allegedly. Then there was an incident a year and a half ago where he hit a cyclist while drink driving and left the scene (only to smash into a petrol station afterward).
Don't think he has been injured much as of late, but he doesn't have the legs to play in Koeman's midfield.
Everton themselves confirmed that and called our joint 28 mil offer for both ''derisory''.Well the story was that he definitely wanted Baines and Fellaini, but we kept dithering/low-balling Everton,
Why did Moyes take the Sunderland job? Will he leave when they go down?
Next 3 in league are Palace away, Southampton home and Everton away. A good point yesterday but I think he needs at least 4 points from next 3. In fact, Palace away is massive game and he will have to show some balls, ambition and have players believe they can win. It is the cliched 6 pointer.Saved his job for another few games I guess?

The dudes over at the "RTG" forums are happy to defend David Moyes but blame their chairman Ellis for everything that's happened.
There's definitely a large element of truth - it sounds like their investment over the years has been poor, especially considering their good fanbase.
But Moyes latest words "we have to build a good team spirit because we don't have the players we would like." Jesus fecking Christ. Imagine if you're a Sunderland player reading that. Doesn't matter if it's true - saying "we" implies that the players somehow agree that they're shit, admittedly that's my take on it. Nobody that BELIEVES they're garbage can become anything other than a loser.
They're absolutely nailed on to get relegated. Terrible squad, terrible manager and terrible chairman.
Think you're memory's playing up pal. Can remember the 63/64 Cup. We drew 3-3 at OT with King Charlie scoring an own goal. We were 3-1 up with about 2 minutes to play and Charlton and Besty scored to take it back to Roker where we 2's apiece after extra time. Big Nick Sharkey scored a couple and Charlton scored with the last kick of the game then we went to Huddersfield and you tonked us 5 or 6-1 and Law got 3 or 4.
Personally I think that Gibson is a good player IF fit. Good passing range, tank of a shot in him. Sunderland are crying out for goals from midfield so might work out well. IF fit

Apparently its the FA's fault, Sunderland aren't doing too well.
Two ways to overcome that issue then.
1. Appoint a Director of Football to ensure continuity.
2. Don't appoint David Moyes, otherwise you guarantee misery and failure.
Just heard thatRodwell finally broke the run of 39 Premier League starts without a win![]()
Was reading this article about him taking Sunderland to train in NYC thinking that he sounds slightly more likable than normal, then he ruins it in the last paragraph by outing himself as a Trump sympathiser...

All that remained was for Moyes to issue an open invitation to the new US president. “If Donald Trump wants to come and see the boys, he’s very welcome,” he said. “Maybe we’ll go to Trump Tower, see if we can get anywhere near it.”
Oh, Dave.
Sounds like he's trying to make it difficult for Trump Tower to get a result. Was reading this article about him taking Sunderland to train in NYC thinking that he sounds slightly more likable than normal, then he ruins it in the last paragraph by outing himself as a Trump sympathiser...
