The West Ham regime, Monsters Inc, will probably make him manager next season.
I hope he does a season in the Championship as I can see Sunderland struggling and that'll really be his breaking point, but I feel he will jump ship/get pushed this summer. For some unknown reason I bet he still believes he deserves a top 6-8 Premier League team![]()
Does Villas-Boas count?
Does Villas-Boas count?
He's a broken man. At Everton he had a bit of steel about him and his teams at least gave a fight but ever since then he's been a parody. Will never get a top flight job again.
Seeing Benitez coach Real was strangeJust out of curiosity, has there been anyone that's comparable to Moyes getting the United job. I.e. - a total fraud ending up in one the biggest jobs in the world?

Avram Grant at Chelsea although very different circumstances. I can't think of anything directly comparable. We should just thank Ed Woodward for ignoring the "United Way" chorus and firing him in his first season.
Benitez is a good manager who has had a lot of success in his careerSeeing Benitez coach Real was strange

He won that ages before appointed to manage Real. I agree that it's better than Moyes to United, but still felt strange.Benitez won the CL, La Liga with Valencia etc. He's miles ahead of Moyes in that sense. Rafa is a decent manager imo.

Benitez vastly outranks Moyes!Seeing Benitez coach Real was strange
Weren't they interim managers, so slightly different. We gave Moyes a six year deal. It's bloody preposterous, thinking about it now.
Both initially given the job as caretakers but then signed long term contracts (shortly before we sacked them!).
I remember being in Italy at that time and it was funny to see the meltdown of inter fansAye after Jose too. Especially, since what happened at Inter after Rafa took over after Jose. Did feel odd now that you mention.
I know, still seemed strange to see the manager who was sacked from Inter and Liverpool manage Real.Benitez vastly outranks Moyes!

I still can't believe we chose him over Mourinho. That one mistake must have cost us around 300m.
Alan Shearer? In the 2008/09 seasonWho was the Newcastle manager a few seasons ago? He was completely woeful. Obviously not the same magnitude but nevertheless, it was a shocking appointment. It wasn't Joe Kaneer. Could have been been his predecessor though.

Same and it was obvious at the time it was a huge mistakeI still can't believe we chose him over Mourinho. That one mistake must have cost us around 300m.
I'm over it alright. He's a shit manager and cost us. Just stating the facts.Get over it. It was three years ago.

1. Not enough timeFailed three jobs in a row. Significantly fallen short of expectations in all three jobs.
Barely a pundit that will put any blame towards him.
We're not all (football) managerial experts but most people can intuitively detect patterns.
Any cheering today Sunderland fans? Didn't think so, back where you belong!
Clocked Moyes making some comment in the papers about how in the summer "everyone" thought he was the best choice, and "No-one" thought otherwise.
Absolutely deluded clown!
He was a disaster at the champions, useless abroad, and has been appalling at Sunderland.
He needs to wait around a bit until Brendan is finished at Celtic and hang about there for a bit. Couldn't fail to be top 2 there
