Day 15: Japan vs Poland, Senegal vs Colombia, England vs Belgium, Panama vs Tunisia

Colombia should have lost today to Senegal. Japan beat them.
They had a magnificent performance v Poland. . . but that's it.

I want to see Southgate bring Welbeck on at end of injury time to punch someone in the face and get a red at the death.

Do red cards count in this tie-breaker or is it just pure yellows?
Yes. Think a yellow is 1 point, a second yellow leading to a red is 3, a straight red is 4 and if you can get a yellow and then a straight red you get 5. Least points wins gets first place.

They were playing with 10 men for 87 minutes v Japan, tbf.

I wouldnt put it down to avoiding top spot. Every team will rest players in the 3rd game if they can do so while still going through. Stupid not to tbh. Russia, Croatia, France, did so, and probably some others (even Japan today, more questionably as most thought they needed a result actually).
There's resting players then doing what this two have done and basically putting on your second string side.

I really don't get why England are so afraid of facing Brazil in the QF. They haven't won a knockout game since 2006. It will be little suprise if we have a Colombia vs Brazil QF like last time.

That's because Japan opened them up after a few minutes causing panic in their defence as well as the conceding of a penalty.

It was their fault they were down to ten for nearly the entire match.

Do any other countries sing their national anthem as a chant? I absolutely hate that we do .

I'd argue that Japan + Brazil is not all that more difficult combination of games compared to Colombia + Switzerland/Sweden.
I saw in last days that many English here want to play against Brazil. I understand why. Brazil looked weak and England is very strong. I wish we can play in quarter final. England will be favorite of course

Some awful decision making from England's fringe players. Get Jesse on.
