Day 15: Japan vs Poland, Senegal vs Colombia, England vs Belgium, Panama vs Tunisia

For all the talk about Belgians not going for the win. They're the only side who has come even close to scoring.

Doubt it. Belgium look like they have at least 1 goal in them.

Also if you play your reserves, as both teams have, it is immensely patronising/condescending to pat them on the back and tell them not to go out and win.

5-2 Belgium on yellows

At the moment, a according to bookmark, draw is the favourites.

There's resting players then doing what this two have done and basically putting on your second string side.

I really don't get why England are so afraid of facing Brazil in the QF. They haven't won a knockout game since 2006. It will be little suprise if we have a Colombia vs Brazil QF like last time.
Think its hugely beneficial to be able to rest your players in a group game. Croatia put out 9 changed players in their game. France had a lot of rotation, same with others. Its about putting faith in your squad. That theyll still go out and do the job in a game that doesnt really matter all that much. It's a world cup squad, dont think theres a big difference in quality between the starters and these apart from Kane anyway. Of course you still want to win, and it's not like they're going out there and playing like shit. Its just giving the squad members a chance at a world cup start in a dead rubber game. Every team would do the same.

Another booking - Belgium taking no chances. England are gonna have to give away a penalty or something - would be good to see England insisting on the ref using VAR whilst the Belgians plead with him not to...

Why do so many people want 2nd? Brazil have been pretty woeful so far this tournament. I’d fancy ya against anyone, I’d rather top spot. Get the 3 points as well to boost confidence.

It would have made more sense for "shots on target" rather than discipline to decide outcome . . . . thus forcing teams who don't want to win to shoot on target

An English player should step up, take one for the team and get a red card or something.
