Day 20: Sweden vs Switzerland and Colombia vs England

Thank feck Sweden v Switzerland is at 3pm and I just won't be able to watch.
 
I'll pass this Sweden-Swiss stuff. Can't see anything except a dreadful match.

England-Colombia is a close game with no clear favorites unless James miss it. Being the last game in the round after all these upsets that either happened or could have happened will make both cautious and not getting carried away I believe.
 
We'll be tested, stretched and probably out supported by their fans. If it goes tits up like it nearly went for Belgium, I just hope they've watched the other games and show some fecking fight and not flop like did against Iceland. Golden opportunity to get to the semi's at least.
 
Swiss-Sweden looks a lock at 1-1. Dunno which will be better at penalties although Granquist taken some nice ones in this tournament.

Colombia 1-2 England.....
 
The Swiss are without Schar and Lichtsteiner. Good opportunity for the dudes behind Spotify and IKEA.
 
Goin for a Sweden and Colombia win. England always bottle it when the chips are down. Expect errors leading to goals rather than great play from Colombia.
 
Rose and Loftus-Cheek will start - Rose stands up to Cuadrado better and Loftus-Cheek provides better balance alongside Henderson.

We'll take the game to them, blasting through their centre midfield and thus keep their attackers quiet. 3-1 England
 
2 -1 England. I think we will go down in the first half but make a great comeback.

I think it will be the same team that started against Colombia
 
The SW derby will be better than expected mark my words.
 
And so it begins, the battle for our time..

Our first real test of this WC. Can easily see us going out on a bad day.
 
2 matches finishing in normal time today can only mean we have 2 games going to extra time tomorrow.
 
I have a feeling that England will shoot themselves in the foot. They’ll be winning 1-0 and give away a late penalty as Stones is desperately trying to recover from a stray pass to Falcao. Then Colombia win 2-1 AET.

That game is so hard to call though. I just can’t help thinking with all this ‘easy route to the final’ stuff that England are set to bottle. Especially with so many Spurs players in the squad.
 
I think England will get through but will suffer. Maybe even something crazy like an England penalty shoot out victory.

Sweden-Switzerland so difficult to call. If pressed I'll say the Swiss.
 
It’s the 4th minute of 5 added on, England are drawing 1-1 with extra time looming large. Sir Gareth George Henry Richard William Southgate the exalted one calls Vardys number, he stands on the sideline and strawpedos a WKD blue from a Powerade bottle and strolls on. Colombia corner, headed away by Stones, Hollywood lofted through ball from Henderson to Vardy, who rounds the keeper and slots home before jumping in the crowd and robbing a Colombia fan of their stash for the changing rooms after.

Football is still coming home and we wank ourselves silly.
 
Danny Murphy says that England only have to be at 70% to beat Colombia.
 
Have Swiss winning 2-1 and Colombia 2-0 in my accumulator game we are playing at the office, but this world cup has been so unpredictable that there is no point at guessing. Just go with the flow and enjoy the games.
 
I really don’t care about Switzerland v. Sweden.

The other match will be a hard fought battle. My prediction:

England starts leading with a Harry Kane Goal; Yerry Mina scores a header from a corner kick before 45 min; then Falcao scores at 60 after a Quintero through ball, only for Lingard to tie it at 80. Then James comes for extra time and score a beauty as he did against Uruguay four years ago. Colombia 3 - England 2

That would be crazier than anything else that’s happened at this World Cup so far.
 
Sweden lost to the worst team in the tournament - no way they can beat Switzerland now.


England's coming home. Colombia to win, probably through penalties.
