Lindegaard played 24 games combined those 2 seasons, compared with De Gea's 80 games.

De Gea was chosen as EPL best keeper in his second season here. In the first half of his first season he made a few mistakes, but he was spectacular on his second half of the season. He has been the best keeper in EPL for at least 3 seasons (I would say 3.5 seasons).
This. The revisionism is absurd. Other than a couple shaky moments in his first season (which most of us already expected as he adjusted to the league), he was largely excellent.

Good to see him in training having a laugh with Herrera.

I just wish he'd come out and say it how it is. Ronaldo made it clear he was staying but one day wanted to go to Madrid, which turned out to be the next season.

He should remember the fact that we stood by him when he was shite, and our brilliant coaches have made him into one of the worlds best. If he can't respect that then feck him and good riddance.

Less I remember wrongly, "I stay"? You wish he'd come out and say it how it is, but perhaps there's a lot less fuss going on in the background than what people are trying to speculate on. For one, the media courting machine from Madrid this time round is nothing compared to what we went through with Ronaldo. Remember Cristiano this, Cristiano that? I suspect DDG still isn't decided on leaving or staying and all there is going on are negotiation talks for both transfer and a new contract. Rest of the drama are media speculation as usual.

As things stand, DDG has yet to say anything publicly that would compromise United's position on transfer negotiations. Neither has he made a fuss about returning for training or tour like the papers wanted us to believe. There's just much more smoke from the media than the fire there really is in the situation.

"El Confidencial" published a while ago an article about de Gea.
They say that the deal is closed , 6 seasons and 5million euros after tax for him. According to the article, the contract specifies that will not join Madrid while Iker continue on the team. They write that the agreement between clubs was closed weeks ago at a law firm in London where Mendes usually ends all agreements. Manchester United would receive 40 million euros. They also discuss the possible replacement .United studied the possibility of Lloris , however Tottenham has no intention to sell so Van Gaal think of Valdes and Muslera , Galatasaray goalkeeper.

too detailed to be bullshit it seems?

I don´t know what to believe, everyone says something different. In one you can read that without Ramos no de Gea , and in another that the deal is closed . A newspaper writes that Van Gaal said no and according to another he is already looking for substitutes . I guess we'll have to wait until is resolved to see who is more reliable.

seems like your latest link used the tactic "coming up with the wildest and most unexpected piece of info to sound credible"

Lots of people picking up on the El Confidencial storey. He must have really wanted to play for Madrid, weird taking £67,000 pw when we were offering up tp £200,000. €40m sounds good though!

In fact he was offered £60k around less by Madrid as they speak in net terms.

LVG looks pissed off in that vine because he's just figured out that the sick note de Gea gave him that morning was a fake.

"Dear Mr Vangle,

Please excuse me David from PE class because he wants to feck off to Madrid --- left his kit at home has a sore tummy.

Signed, Dave Eddurn Edorn Edirn Missus Dave."

Casilias seems to be off to Porto, Madrid sure are confident. Hopefully Ed doesn't give in unless it's a world record gk fee.

The sooner he's gone the better, he no longer wants to play for United so that's that.

But let's hope Woody has the sense to line up a replacement before its done and dusted.

The more I see Liverpool and Sterling silliness, the more I appreciate the way David has handled this. I mean yeah signing a new contract would have been nice, especially with a large release clause, but not the worse thing.

Exactly, at least De Gea has handled it with a bit of decorum. He will be welcomed back to OT at any future meetings between the 2 teams. Can't see Sterling getting any applause from the Kop any time soon. @JustAFan

No news as far as i`ve seen... If Casillas moves then De Gea deal was agreed. They wouldn't let him go otherwise.

I dont see Casillas going to Porto (yes I'm well aware that talks are already ongoing), but stranger things have happened.

Real Madrid will cough up 30 million quid and get DDG it seems. Do not think that we will have a keeper of similar quality, however, at least we will get the amount that we want. Hopefully, Valdes will surprise us.

That's it, he's off to Basel. :(

1 Ramos please, you can keep the change.
I am waiting to see that amazing offer that United is willing to do...It will be interesting to see what happens on friday in the farewell ceremony. Probably Bernabeu will be packed with fans but no Madrid associates. Sergio, Iker, Florentino...I wonder how will be the reaction of the public with Sergio and the president

Herrera was there after all!

Got to say I'm pleased to see Juan Ander and the sneaky one:D - with the great Federer.
Hope Roger tried to lure DeGea to play for his team Basle:D

Article on the inside pages of Marca. It says more or less this: "A name has been incorporated into the negotiation of Madrid and Manchester by De Gea : Keylor Navas , who is liked by Van Gaal considering him a good replacement to fill the gap left by De Gea . The name of Keylor accelerates the negotiations that remain dependent on Sergio Ramos. United have not changed its mind and there will not be progress if Madrid doesn´t accept talks for the CB. United knows that losing the goalkeeper card/trick, will be almost impossible to link the two operations ,but Madrid has another thought and is working against the clock to close the signing trusting that the last offer made it will be well received in Manchester. Madrid even dreams of introducing the goalkeeper on Saturday ( ... ) Manchester has always been clear that the goalkeeper would not leave for less than 40 million ( € ) but the deal could be closed in an amount to be around 30 , or 35 including objectives"

 , don´t your like Navas? I think that is a very agile goalkeeper, with great reflexes. He did a very good World Cup

No harm to the Spanish press, but they have been abysmal during this saga.
No 40m euros is not enough, no we don't want Navas.
It's 35m pounds and to open negotiations for Ramos or theyll have to wait a year for De Gea. That's been made as clear as day.
How they think Navas, a player who will leave if De Gea joins Madrid anyway, is key is beyond me.

Navas? No thanks.

Great shot stopper, but he's not going to change his game at his age to adapt to the premier league.
