This is a big blow. Johnstone isn't ready, neither is Romero.
I can't understand this decision. Totally shocked about this i have to admit.
It's simple LVG think that De Gea isn't focused on his game, maybe he sensed it or De Gea told him.

Refuse to let player go for insulting fee, then player throws a tantrum at not getting move.
Yep, LVG and Woodward really fecked us up this time, there was Soooo much they could do about it.
Get a grip.
Seriously?
He's a professional, under contract. Being paid an absolute fortune to perform to a very high standard. If he lets his focus and performance drop because he wants a different job then it's nobody's fault but his own.
Try telling your boss you don't really feel like giving the job 100% because you'd quite fancy working for another company. See how that goes down.
In your scenario we would have gotten peanuts for DDG and then fans would again be mad.
Romero was in Copa America. Even if we had signed him 5 years ago, he would have still missed the pre-season.How is it stupid?
DDG is going. It's quite clear since May when Van Gaal said it was difficult to keep him that he was off. We keep him on the bench for the season or sell him. It doesn't matter as we would have a new goalkeeper regardless.
The situation we in now is stupid. Van Gaal knew Valdes was off in May. Signs Romero in July and doesn't give him a game in pre season. Baffling that was too. Why sign him so late, if he knew Valdes was going in May.
I wonder what all those people who are not happy with this situation thought few months ago. SOme of them were probably like - no chance we should sell him for peanuts. We also would have got a new goalkeeper lined up. And what do you want from a goalkeeper in his last year? The record fee is £33m and we not getting that. Toni Kroos went for £20m in his last year.
So you think the fans aren't mad with the current scenario?
Read the forums and come back to me if you think everyone is happy with this current situation.
I think it's our awful preparation for the inevitable that has people pissed off and rightly so.

Its just one game. DDG is not focused, maybe he'll be by next week. We dont know whats happening. I wouldnt be surprised if we kept him for another year. Once the season starts he'll grind his teeth and play his best.
Until he isnt sold I dont get this hysteria.
De Gea with longer contract would currently be worth £125m. With one year left he's easily worth £65m.
Or something. Realistically we can get £25m maximum for him and with long contract it might have been £40m. His price has been a bit overestimated over the last few months.
He'd manage to prevent us scoring while playing for us.Can we bring Brad Friedel out of retirement?
It was sarcasm. People seem to think he's as valuable as Messi.£125m for a gk? What?
I'm expecting him not to concede any goal for that much.
It's simple LVG think that De Gea isn't focused on his game, maybe he sensed it or De Gea told him.
Ok and he is dropped cause of it.He clearly has his sights set on Madrid, and that is why he is not focused, it really isn't rocket science.
Well played by Madrid and Mendes BTW, they've tapped him up long ago and knew well that they wouldn't have to go over £25m to sign him, only needed some mind games we're seeing right now.
At the of the day LVG is paid good money to ensure that our club wins football games. He's not going to bench/drop our best goalkeeper unless he feels his head isn't in the right place at the moment.
DDG is acting very unprofessionally and it's completely unacceptable.
Rightly so? If Madrid don't offer a decent amount and De Gea doesn't hand in transfer request or sign extension, what are we supposed to do, stockpile keepers just in case? De Gea gets paid by this club so should be a proffesional about the circumstances, not come olut and say all the speculation is getting to him, speculation he could have put to bed one way or another months ago.
I dont see it quite like this. Sometimes when your head isnt in the right place it isnt because you are consciously shirking. When something is playing on your mind it is hard to focus. I said it before, its the uncertainty. Its doing all of our heads in, I imagine it is doing his head in even more. He doesnt know where he is going to be living next month. I really believe once this has been cleared up one way or the other, when the window closes, he will be able to get his head down and perform as he did last season.DDG is acting very unprofessionally and it's completely unacceptable.
I want to see the back of him now, but I really really hope we keep him for the last year just to feck with Madrid and Mendes.
What I don't get is why we keep signing Mendes clients and 'maintain great relationship' with him. He's done nothing but fecked us over.
He's basically Perez agent first and foremost.I honestly hope De Gea leaving signals the last we deal with Mendes.
We took Bebe from him as goodwill and the greasy cnut pays us back with this and the Di Maria debacle.
I totally agree, I have no problem with his decision.
Play him in one of the qualifiers and cup tied him.. madrid wont want him til the next season then
The whole situation is terrible management from van Gaal and Woodward. They've been praised numerous times for their strong stance on De Gea's availability but if we end up having him on the bench for a year it won't do us any good.
Or was it a Drogba offside goal at OT and us loosing to Blackburn (I think) before that.We have the uncertain Romero and the inexperienced Johnstone.
Do people not remember what happened with Foster? His fecking around at the start of the season basically won Chelsea the premier league in 09/10.
What I don't get is why we keep signing Mendes clients and 'maintain great relationship' with him. He's done nothing but fecked us over.
