We need to get van Gaal to come out and call them a mob who he wouldn't sell a virus to, that'll soon have them coming back with a seriously improved offer you'd think.
I still think he will stay.
He'll stay. There's too much fuss without anything really happening. Just like Vidal last summer, or Fabregas, Sneijder Thiago etc. It won't go through, sorry to say it Real Madrid fans.He will stay. Quote me.
All big transfers are conducted like this. A couple months of speculation before the transfer window opens, then announcement. He'll stay. There's too much fuss without anything really happening. Just changed my vote from no to yes. I feel very certain.
Time to play hard ball.
If I were United I'd tell De Gea today that they'd rather make him rot on the bench for all of next season and then see him leave for free than sell him to Madrid this summer.
No player should be able to hold the club hostage like he has, and it's about time a club stand up to Madrid.
Demand Bale in return or tell them to go away.
It's like watching the same asshole steal my girlfriends again and again.
Why?I think fans have a right to begrudge his move to Madrid. I can understand his reasons for wanting to leave but he could've at least signed a contract and helped us out. Even a vile human being like Suarez did that.
I'm sorry I can't feel good about losing one of the best players in his position for a marginally better fee than that club just paid for Danilo who for all intents and purposes may be a back up right back for them.
suarez doubled his money for that season signing a contract. don't think he gave a feck about Liverpool's accounts. if he goes for 25/30m then yeah its a pisstakeI think fans have a right to begrudge his move to Madrid. Because United isn't a bottomless pit of money. He's a valuable product that we should get top dollar for. Also it makes us look like mugs. It's not good for us going forward to have Madrid get everything they want on their terms. It's not just what happens on the field, it's business as well. Why?
That explains why it's in United's interest. But why would that be in de Gea's interest right now?Because United isn't a bottomless pit of money. The reasons we would want it to happen are pretty obvious. The question remains, why should he have signed a new deal?Because United isn't a bottomless pit of money. Could not care less about De Gea's interest - I'm not his friend. It's United I'm concerned with. If it's business for him, it's business for us. I would tell him - Real pays what we want or you stay. I think it's better for us to take a hard stance. Let him go for free if he wants, giving into Madrid on their terms is damaging to us. And there is no chance he doesn't perform if we keep him until the end of his contract because Euro 2016 is coming up and playing for his national team is very important to him. It's in his best interest to continue putting in great performances. That explains why it's in United's interest. But why would that be in de Gea's interest right now?
Of course his agent told him not to sign. But he didn't have to agree to that. This is why I don't understand all these 'supportive' comments about the way he's leaving. Dave has screwed us over and most people seem happy with thatExactly, which is why his agent has told him 18 months ago not to sign to really increase his chances of leaving. Why give United all the leverage when you and your agent can hold all the cards yourselves? Is it the agents job to get the selling club paid?
Why?
Weird response. United can't hold a gun to his head. It can be in their interest, but if it's not in his, then paper's not being signed.Could not care less about De Gea's interest - I'm not his friend. It's United I'm concerned with. I don't get what you're saying? I don't care about De Gea's best interests. I want what's best for United, so of course I'm looking at it from United's best interest.Weird response. The initial post mrntioned de Gea heping us out. When asked why he should, you gave a bujch readons that only served United's interests. I simply asked how this explains why he should help us out.

United's star player shouldn't be the goal keeper. Losing DdG will force the club to readdress that by properly strengthening defense and trying to add more creativity/star power up top - this is better to me.
He started to become almost a 'plan B' to defend 1 goal leads and I didn't like it, at all.
My comments about him coming across badly through this are just my opinion, time will tell if fans remember him fondly - Ronaldo, Beckham - or not.
I think we've tried that but seems Dave is having none of it - well disappointed with him. A slap in the face of the club. It's not like signing a new contract with us will ruin any potential move to Madrid. He will immediately earn more money inc a nice bonus. In the worst case scenario, Madrid will delay the move for another year, in which he will still play in the CL with us. It's not like we're facing relegation next season with no hope. If Madrid want him they will eventually get him. We can play hardball if we want, but we need to work with the player, like SAF did with Ronaldo.
You'll never get a reasonable answer to that question mate, simply because there isn't one.The reasons we would want it to happen are pretty obvious. The question remains, why should he have signed a new deal?
De Gea will win stuff at Madrid but yeah I can't see anything other total Barca domination for the next few years. And a club who doesn't really win.
Yeah I'm slightly being unfair to Benitez(Overall I think he's a pretty good coach). But I agree with you that I can't see the appeal of Madrid(At this moment in time)footballing wise. They are a complete mess.De Gea probably doesn't consider Benitez a joke in the way the Caf does and players who want to go to Real Madrid probably don't give a feck who the coach is, especially as they surely must be aware that he is mostly irrelevant and will probably be sacked after the first season anyway.
I don't get why Real Madrid have so much pull, I find their brazenness and arrogance quite off-putting, and the constant political turmoil in and around the club must also be exhausting sometimes. But it's a fact, they're the number one for the majority of players.

Sell him for a ridiculous amount. Use the money on outfield players. De Gea is a luxury keeper anyway.
I really feel you're spot on here. Especially the first partUnited's star player shouldn't be the goal keeper. Losing DdG will force the club to readdress that by properly strengthening defense and trying to add more creativity/star power up top - this is better to me.

What's a luxury keeper?
He can only play one position and can't do anything unless there's a defense in front of him. What's a luxury keeper?
By the same token why should the club help him out by signing him over to Madrid?
He has a year left on his contract and following that year Madrid have a transfer ban.
If he's gonna leave for 20-30m, I'd be inclined to say 'feck it, you can stay' for a season. It sends out a message to other players that we're not a Real feeder club, and it sends out a message to Madrid that we don't need to sell to them.
If United don't agree to let him leave then he literally can't go anywhere for another season - not the worst result for him, we're a huge club, in the CL, better manager than Real have.
What makes someone, "Luxury"Sell him for a ridiculous amount. Use the money on outfield players. De Gea is a luxury keeper anyway.
