Why do people actually believe this utter bullshit? Not that I think LVG would be interested in Ramos but when was the last ever player swap deal at this level?

First player to welcome Mata in United... Fully understandable.

'Get back to the choppa, naow !'At least we now know what this was really about. De Gea was whispering in Mata's ear, warning him to get away from Moyes while he still can.
Yeah, I know they're really good mates. Herrera too. Cute little Spanish triple way friendship going on.First player to welcome Mata in United... Fully understandable.

Not 100% sure, but I think he emptied the bins.Who's the dude on the far left in that photo? Is he the groundskeeper? Come collector? Car park attendant? Door-to-door shoe salesman?

Isn't that how swaps actually work?I'm almost sure that it's not a swap deal that the press are talking about, it's two different transactions basically 'we sell you De Gea, if you sell us Ramos'.
Swap deals don't happen.
I doThey seldom do but they happen. Don't you remember Eto'o/Ibrahimovich plus cash in 2009?
I do![]()
No offence taken, just a reminder of a feck up from our side of things. It sounded great in theory, but didn't work.Haha you shouldn't take offence when the question wasn't directed to you good sir!

So a swap then? Regardless, it ain't happening.I'm almost sure that it's not a swap deal that the press are talking about, it's two different transactions basically 'we sell you De Gea, if you sell us Ramos'.

I recall reading that Utrecht was very pissed at Swansea because of the deal that included Vorm, where he went to spurs. Because it was basically a trade between the clubs with no transaction involved, Utrecht did not receive the percentage that they had negotiated. No, a swap is one and only transaction, in previous weeks what has been described was two separated transactions. United buy a player for a certain sum and Real Madrid buy De Gea for a certain sum.

Anyways. I'm rather sure it won't be a straight swap.

Yeah I know, my point is that they're extremely rare despite making up an irritating majority of unfounded transfer rumors. They seldom do but they happen. Don't you remember Eto'o/Ibrahimovich plus cash in 2009?

Come collector?
Could be the case, but there have been no serious links with any top quality GK.
I am pretty certain the delay is due to Casillas. I can't see de gea moving unless Casillas leaves. The guy is too influential there, couple of bad games and the media + his backers in the club would want him back in the 11.
True, that could mean a number of things though. They might have faith with Valdes or might simply just wait and see what else becomes available. Or test Spurs resolve in keeping hold of Lloris?
I think the fans have started to turn on him, when that happens it doesn't matter how influential you are behind the scenes. When Ronaldo came Raul was given the shove, same will happen to Iker imo.
I feel that loosing our best player sends out all the wrong signals for a huge club striving to reach the top again.
There is no need to sugarcoat this it is a terrible terrible situation for United and seems so easy for Real to put us under pressure.
A huge club, some say the biggest in the world in trouble keeping it´s best players when another club comes along. And not just anyone, United´s best player 2 years running. And when the rumours started most of us knew deep down that we were in deep trouble. So a swap deal with Ramos who is 29 years old isn´t going to help one bit with the goal of building a squad with a sustainable championship challenging pedigree.
So why 2 years into his contract with the club didn´t we get De Gea to sign a extension? If he was the future and we planned it with him as an undisputed Nr UNO shouldn´t United pull out all stops to get him to sign onto the dream and future of the "biggest" club in the world? I for one feel that half our problem lies in identifying his undoubtable potentials to late as he struggled a bit in his first 2 seasons. And having Moyes changing his trainer (Eric Steele) might have been one of the biggest feck ups as he is now with his 3rd coach in 4 years and seemed to have a genuine relationship with Eric as Eric went to pick up spanish to be able to communicate with the guy rather than having to put his faith on De Gea´s non existent english.
Moyes spent an awful amount of time getting Nani,Rooney and Januzaj to renew as their contracts were running out but only one of them had something close to future player at United written on him.. Reports now indicate that Nani is leaving for Turkey for under 10m with 3 years left on his contract and Rooney is turning 30 and I´m not going into Januzaj here but at the time he surely looked the part of having a good Old Trafford future.
De Gea now has all the cards. Two more years under his belt of great goalkeeping, one year left on his contract and the biggest spanish club breathing down his neck.. But the club is desperate to keep him and will according to reports pay him well over the odds to keep him so De Gea is in a win win situation while United are in a very very bad position with little or no control of the situation. Not something a CEO or General Manager would be to proud off if this was a ordinary Business.
So we are doing something wrong here, our transfers have been very odd lately and our status since SAF retired has been lowered to say the least. But if the plan is to build a squad for the future we need to make sure that our young future stars are in this and if we are forced to sell get what we should for these players. The Ronaldo case is just that, he wanted to move to Real but signed a contract and we had a good platform to build on for that transfer to recieve a decent fee. If De Gea gets this move now for anything under 30M we havent done our job. Not signing a contract with two years left should be a signal towards getting the player off your books for a good fee ( Sterling will fetch 30-45M ) not a signal to put your faith in luck and change of heart..
Don't think the Ramos situation will happen, and yes I would be absolutely fuming if we gave them any sort of money for him in addition to De Gea.At this moment, I'll take De Gea extending his contract as our only signing for the rest of the summer. Then keep my fingers crossed for the fitness of Smalling, Jones and Carrick.
The idea of giving money to Real in addition to David for Ramos makes me want to cry.
But that's just it, he doesn't want to just go back to Spain - he wants to go to Real Madrid. Not back to Atleti, nothing like that, has his heart set on Madrid. Quite frankly he and his dodgy agent should get on Madrid's case to pay up for him. Why should the club be going through all this stress for his personal preference when it's not ideal for us?If De Gea is intent on going back to Spain, and is open to another team other than Real Madrid, i won't mind a swap with Barcelona for Ter Stegen. Per reports, Real are being stubborn about letting Bale, Varane or Benzema come to United, so i would look to do a deal with Barcelona.
That's a bit extreme! We need signings in defence and midfield more than we need a world class keeper. I'd love Dave to stay too, but I don't want to see us go through the same rollercoaster season we've just had again, with the only addition being Memphis. At this moment, I'll take De Gea extending his contract as our only signing for the rest of the summer. Then keep my fingers crossed for the fitness of Smalling, Jones and Carrick.

Good. I want a proper bid from Madrid, not some insulting figure. I also want Iker to stay and make life hell for De Gea because that's what he deservesMarca writes today that Madrid will rise the offer for David.Iker has been warned that he will be in the bench. If he decides to stay Navas will go on loan.
