They'll be no 'if', and LvG will no doubt relish in playing him too.

Long time until we get to those games though, but as you stated last week you didn't expect him to go on our tour when it was clear Casillas was on his way.

Next two weeks he'll no doubt be living it up with his two Spanish buddies, and who knows maybe all the new signings might just turn his head back our way. :)
Yes, you were right, Van Gaal and Woodward are playing hard but I still trust in Madrid efficiency in transfer market. Bale or Modric were signed in the second fortnight of August so we have still time.If Van Gaal does not want Valdes then soon there will be news about goalkeepers

Yeah that was a really odd one, only conclusion you can draw is that he is off.

Lindegaard just isn't rated and will likely leave, and Johnstone isn't going to be second choice.

Buying one keeper is hard enough but we'd need two if DDG, and Valdes leave, which tells me one is sure to stay.....

All due respect, but hopefully United don't give Real Madrid that time. We've done well to get a few early transfers, we shouldn't disrupt things with a late change of goalkeeper. Frankly I'd tell Real now 'you haven't stamped up the cash in time, you're not getting him this summer'. If not, I'll give them no more than two more weeks to get it done.

And each day they don't offer the £35M we add £2M more to the price.

I'm starting to hope he stays, puts in a fecking terrible first 3 games, gets replaced by Valdes who goes on to take the fecking piss, penalty saves the fecking lot. David rots on the bench and never ever gets his form back. Goes to Madrid and is as embarrassing as his first few weeks for us and stays like that.

There is just no point selling him this summer, we got to bed in our new signings. Just tell DDG if he wants to leave, you can leave next summer. By then our new signings would have settled, our squad is settled, and we can sign a new keeper next summer, who can come into the squad that is settled, and the gamble is not so severe. This summer, we are rebuilding the backbone of the team, and this backbone needs to establish itself this season. Next summer is when I feel a new keeper will be needed, just because we already have signed 4 players this year, and adding a new keeper with a new backbone is asking for too many players to settle

I think that I already askedthis but I forgot the answer,if David plays with United in C.L in august, could he play with Madrid later?

Yes.

The regulation as it stands is in clause 42.07 of:
http://www.uefa.com/MultimediaFiles.../Regulations/02/23/57/51/2235751_DOWNLOAD.pdf
As a rule, a player may not play in a UEFA club competition (i.e. UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League, but not UEFA Super Cup) for more than one club in the course of the same season. Exceptionally, however, a player who has been fielded in the first, second, third qualifying round or the play-offs of the UEFA Champions League or UEFA Europa League is entitled to play in the UEFA Champions League or UEFA Europa League for another club as from the group stage.

Though i agree with wanting de gea to stay one more season; the problem is if they meet our quota then that is alot of money to reject. Also, if we dont win the title next season, you would assume that van gaal will be allowed to see his contract off unless he fumbles around like moyes did. 3 years in to his contact, he should absolutely & most definitely leave a title winning side for the next manager.

Do you do that with a keeper who wants to leave or with a new keeper? My choice is the second one.

There aren't any stand-out candidates, therefore he should stay for another year to see if the situation changes.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if Perez would prefer to wait it out and sign him for free. Based on his past actions, he seems like the kind of guy who doesn't think a goalkeeper is worthy of a hefty fee and will sign Casilla for a minimal cost. It just seems strange that they don't Real Madrid it and pay what we want.

As for De Gea he really is a slipper (learn a new phrase everyday on the caf). After years of watching Madrid do what needs to be done to land who they want, he's still here because the club he's so hell bent on joining won't make serious attempt to get him. Whereas we're willing to offer him the best wages in the world for his position to keep him.

Also I need to point Shakira who is a huge star moved for her man.

You're terrible, mate. Did you think the same for Ronaldo or Beckham?

I think we'll set a deadline for Madrid to bid for him. If nothing is done by then, we'll close shop and get ready for the new season.

I'd love to see De Gea stay and give us one more good season to help us win the title. Alternatively, they can stump up 35mil and we can let super Woody get to work.

She did, but she had the added benefit of moving to a country that also speaks spanish. Although, I have no idea what Edurne's english skills are like at all.

Yeah, but Edurne is a former Eurovision contestant and came 6th in the Spanish equivalent of fecking X-Factor. She's not talented enough to make a living anywhere else.

Madrid are not going to meet united's asking price, so I think he will see out his contract and leave on a free

Of course Madrid will meet his price. I just think it will be a big deal. 20-25 million doesn't matter to us if it's one season but if it's a huge deal (what if it's something crazy like 50 million) then I think we'll let him go rather than letting him go for free)

Seriously, how the hell did Pique pull this one off?

I wouldn't be surprised if deadline was till our US tour. Still think he will stay as i was saying whole year, the only question is if he will sign a new contract or not.

In our out? What's it gonna be you goat faced moron? This shit is starting to get on my nerves, and we're rapidly reaching the point where there's no return. One more week of this and I'm ready to refuse any sort of deal with Madrid and just ship him out on loan to play for Northorp FC for the 15/16 campaign.

De Gea she couldn't even Eurovision. Sort it out.

The most obvious thing that has come out of this for me is that it appears DDG is a great big pussy.
Letting his Mrs derail his career rather than say to her, "Listen love, you are a talentless third rate pop nobody and are never going to be famous, Im one of the best in the world at what I do playing for the biggest club in the world who want to pay we £200000 a week, get your pointless bony arse to Manchester or we are done."
MAN UP DAVE.......Manc girls are far dirtier :)

After watching how casillas broke down and the complete lack of respect from madrid, im just shocked he wants to go there, get booed by fans, constant pressure from relentless media and political situations, its a complete circus. He wont earn more money there, he's an atletico boy, Barca have the better side, both now and longterm as bale is not going to make up for enevitable drops in ronaldo's productivity so its not like he's guaranteed trophies there. and united are a team thoroughly on the up.

Tell you what, he must be under some next level pressure form his missus, because other than the climate and his girlfriend im struggling to see how the grass is greener.

Barcelona is not a bad place to live, besides Shakira's always going to be on tour plenty of time as she's a world class star as opposed to Edurne who's only known in Spain and between United fans. She's also the primary reason why he's moving back to Spain IMO, otherwise he'd not have been so intent on that Madrid move.

Aye, he'll get to play in his home country and be back with his fiance but he's already left Atletico to go to England in a fully aware decision. It was a bit silly if after mere 4 years he wants to be back in Spain because he can't keep living without his girlfriend. Given how much we have strengthened and it is clear our intention is to get back to the very top, and we don't really have competition of Barcelona who are far superior domestically, we're probably as likely as Real Madrid to endure success in the coming years - all while respecting him and singing his name loudly as opposed to throwing him out the door the minute he becomes not good enough for extended period.

Spot on mate, he should ask Ronaldo how much he's won there since he left United. With his Mrs and family living there it is understandable he wants to go it's just a strange one considering most would think the fact he's an Atletico boy would stop him joining Real. They're such a bunch of disrespectful tossers too, they don't deserve him in the slightest. The clubs treatment of Casillas was really unbelievable, they show no loyalty to their players at all.

He sure as hell won't win as much if he does leave to go there simply because however good they are, they aren't as good as Barcelona with Messi, Neymar and Suarez. We have more chance winning the league over the next couple of years in my opinion than they have La Liga, hopefully Dave will realise that and just tell his Mrs to move here and deal with it. Ed really needs to work on getting him a new girlfriend.

Girls can make you do the craziest things.

His missus looks like a slut anyway, he should get himself a nice lass from Lancashire.

Going a bit left-field here ... Could we not just hawk him to Atletico Madrid? It's his home city and club, we swap for their keeper, and his missus is happy. Plus I really don't think he'll win many more trophies if he went to real, not with Barca in the way.

Get it done Woody!

Its different for Pique and Shaqira because his girl isn't working in Spain. She goes on tour. She isn't confined in one spot. Whereas DDG's girl works IN Spain. There isn't much option for her to move elsewhere. She is a TV presenter in Spain.

This. Strange it was never considered

TV presenter, eh? Give her a gig with MUTV: "Edurnity: The Spanish voice"!
